A closely monitored blockchain data-availability project called Avail announced details about an upcoming event following the leak of eligibility criteria on social media platform X last week.

Approximately 354,605 wallet addresses are qualified to receive a share of the 600 million tokens in the “unification drop” as mentioned in a blog post by the Avail team. The recipients come from various backgrounds, but they must fall into one of these categories: blockchain developers and contributors, users of rollup platforms (Polygon, zkSync, Starknet, Optimism, and Arbitrum), PoS stakers on Polygon, or members of the Avail community who have made substantial ecosystem contributions.

From now until May 4, recipients can begin the process of validating token claims. The distribution of the tokens will occur once Avail DA is officially launched.

Recently, CoinDesk announced that information about an upcoming token giveaway had been made public. Several of these disclosed details were subsequently verified in a blog post by Avail, published on Thursdays.

Last year, Avail drew attention for creating a Data Availability (DA) solution. This innovative technology assists blockchains in handling data processing outside their systems. DA solutions have recently become quite popular, with the launch of projects such as Celestia in October and Eigenlayer’s EigenDA just last week.

In February, Avail revealed information about two additional core offerings that their team is developing: Avail Nexus, a foundational element linking various rollups in the Avail network, and Avail Fusion, which enables cryptocurrencies such as ether (ETH) or bitcoin (BTC) to be integrated into Avail’s security framework.

In his blog post, Avail expressed that the “unification drop” functions as a powerful bond, drawing various groups together. It recognizes and compensates developers, governance participants, educators, users of rollups, stakers, and other significant contributors from diverse blockchain ecosystems.
