Mark Hamill caused a stir among Star Wars fans when he discussed the possibility of leaving the franchise while promoting his film Life of Chuck. He initially suggested he wouldn’t play Luke Skywalker again, but later clarified that he hadn’t quit entirely, just felt his character’s story had reached a natural ending. He even playfully proposed a Luke Skywalker spinoff movie, which he admitted could actually be really good.

The series premiered on NBC on February 23rd and quickly became a surprisingly popular show. Created by some of the team behind 30 Rock, it features Daniel Radcliffe and Tracy Morgan. NBC announced it would be back for a second season on May 13th, just a month after the first season ended.

I was also adjusting to a completely different culture. Back in Asia, I was a well-known actor – directors and studios went out of their way to please me. But in America, it felt like my opinions didn’t matter. In the late 90s and early 2000s, there weren’t many opportunities for Asian actors, so I knew I’d have to work twice as hard to prove myself. And on top of everything, I was learning the language. I had to study English from the very beginning, like a child learning their ABCs, practicing with flashcards and repeating simple phrases like “A is for apple, B is for boy.”

It’s good to see the Historical Society getting some attention, especially since their introductory video about Widow’s Bay is usually so helpful and inviting. However, the video includes a map that warns people not to travel there, complete with a skull! It’s also unsettling that the video ends with the host unable to leave the room, and instead awkwardly stands in the corner as the credits roll—it’s reminiscent of The Blair Witch Project. And it’s even more concerning considering the video was created by Gerrie Davis, the head of the Historical Society, who just last week told Tom about the many human teeth found on the island by early settlers. Doesn’t she realize how unsettling all of this comes across?

The episode starts with Margo presenting her first concept video, which feels like a classic, creative music video from MTV’s prime days. It quickly establishes a scene and then immediately breaks it down. As people arrive at a premiere for HungryGhost, a huge alien unexpectedly appears, walking gently and curiously towards the theater. She announces that she’s entered through people’s phones and wants to consume their memes, outdated media, and negative emotions – boredom, sadness, and anxiety. It’s a surprisingly appealing offer, even better than medication, and the speaker immediately wants to participate.
