Retirement plans become deadly in The Get Out trailer.
In the thriller Get Out, a nightclub owner (Russell Crowe) finds himself in danger from ruthless cartels as he tries to sell his club and retire. Just as he’s facing multiple attacks, a potential buyer emerges, but his motives might be more sinister than they seem.
I was really excited to see who was joining Russell Crowe in this movie, and the cast is seriously stacked! We’ve got Luke Evans playing Joe Carver, Aaron Paul as Jeff, and Nina Dobrev as Carrie. There’s also Teresa Palmer, and while they haven’t revealed her character’s name yet, she plays Kapak’s girlfriend. It’s a pretty impressive group of actors all together.
Russell Crowe plays Manco Kapak, a nightclub owner hoping to retire, but his plans quickly fall apart and become incredibly dangerous. The preview immediately plunges his character into turmoil, showing him recovering from a heart attack. A doctor warns him that his high stress will be fatal unless he makes a change, leading him to sell his club and leave the criminal life he’s known for years.
The trailer reveals Russell Crowe’s character caught in a dangerous situation – a robbery and multiple assassination attempts – as he tries to sell his nightclub. Quick shots of gunfights and brutal violence, including a scene of someone being suffocated, suggest escaping his past won’t be easy, and may even be impossible.
The new crime thriller is based on Thomas Perry’s 2010 novel, STRIP. Set in Los Angeles, the story centers on a club owner connected to the mob, whose life falls apart after a robbery puts a target on his back. The stolen money sets off a chain of dangerous events, drawing in thieves, detectives, and even people who appear to have no connection to the crime.
Perry is a celebrated author known for his thrilling novels. He received an Edgar Award in 1983 for his debut novel, The Butcher’s Boy, which recognizes outstanding first novels in the mystery genre. The Edgar Award, established in 1946 and named after Edgar Allan Poe, is a prestigious honor given to top authors of mystery, crime, and suspense stories.
The movie Get Out will be in theaters on June 26, 2026, and will be available to rent or buy digitally on June 30, 2026.
