The season follows Geralt and his companions as they finally approach Nilfgaard, but face one last challenge: a dangerous river crossing. They initially find a ferry, which seems like a stroke of luck. However, a Northern army mistakenly believes they are spies for Nilfgaard, forcing them to flee down the river. Unfortunately, this only leads them into another danger – a Nilfgaardian force waiting on the other side, ready to attack.

The episode mostly unfolds as expected. Heather and Emily visit Heather’s childhood home and receive a spontaneous tour, culminating in an emotional moment for Heather by the canal. It’s a genuinely touching scene. The group playfully teases Shannon about her Spanx, which feels like a missed opportunity for a product endorsement. Later, Gina and Heather give Shannon mushrooms, leading to a hallucination of reality TV music – a perfectly fitting experience for her. The episode culminates in a final dinner where Heather delivers a toast that perfectly captures the essence of modern reality TV: “May our makeup always be perfect, our stories always be truthful, and our friendships, though messy, always be worthwhile.” It’s a statement worthy of being embroidered and displayed, perhaps even in a museum – though it might be too tempting for thieves, so placing it near the Morgan letters would be safer.

When the first images and trailers for IT: Welcome to Derry were released, I initially thought it would share a lot of similarities with Stranger Things. That’s because Stranger Things already borrows heavily from the style and themes found in Stephen King’s work – it reminded me of stories like Carrie, Firestarter, and Stand By Me. This year’s TV adaptation of The Institute also felt similar, especially in how it depicted children with special abilities.

Linda Hamilton starred in a film based on a Stephen King story early in her career, but she remembers it very negatively – she’s even called it the worst movie she’s ever been in. Interestingly, despite her dislike, the film has gained a dedicated following and become a cult classic, suggesting her initial assessment might have been off base.

I was surprised to read in Variety that Gayle King might be leaving CBS! It’s all a bit unclear right now – we don’t know if she’s looking for a different job within CBS, or if she’s moving on completely. CBS hasn’t officially said anything about her leaving, but they did release a statement saying they haven’t even had any conversations with her about her contract, which runs until May 2026. Basically, they said she’s incredibly valuable to them and they plan to talk to her about the future when the time comes.
