As a dedicated fan, I can share that during Skyrim’s development, there was a disagreement between Gardiner and the game designers regarding the balance of the game. Apparently, the designers were using an AI predictive model to establish equilibrium, but it didn’t account for how players would naturally interact with the game. Recognizing this gap, Gardiner stepped up and personally played through the game to rebalance the creatures in Skyrim, given the limited time remaining before its release.
