Antoni Porowski Left Queer Eye with ‘More Questions Than Answers’

Nearly a year after filming wrapped on the final season of Queer Eye, Antoni Porowski is still puzzled by how things ended. He told Variety he was disappointed that the focus shifted away from celebrating everyone who contributed to the show over the years, both on and off camera. He admits he has more questions than answers, but hopes fans recognize the positive impact and dedication the cast brought to the series. Leading up to the January premiere, allegations of bullying surfaced, with Karamo Brown claiming he had been emotionally and mentally abused by his fellow Fab Five members. During an appearance on the Today Show, Sheinelle Jones shared that Karamo’s therapist advised him to prioritize his well-being and not attend events as a result.

Over the last decade, the cast of Queer Eye has faced some internal conflicts. Before leaving after season eight, interior design expert Bobby Berk had a falling out with fashion expert Tan France, even unfollowing him on social media. France’s friend, Jeremiah Brent, then took over the role. There were also reports of Jonathan Van Ness acting in a way that upset others, adding to rumors of tension among the Fab Five. However, Antoni Porowski believes the show’s positive impact will ultimately be remembered, stating, “I don’t want how things ended to overshadow the show’s message, because that message was always genuine and heartfelt. That’s what I’ll focus on.”
