AI Agents Pay for Google Cloud APIs with Solana Stablecoins: No Accounts, No Keys!

Solana and Google Cloud Roll Out Pay.sh for AI API Access

Key Highlights

  • AI agents can now pay for and use APIs automatically using Solana stablecoin wallets without accounts, API keys, or subscriptions.
  • Pay.sh connects AI agents to Google Cloud services like Gemini, BigQuery, and Vertex AI, charging per request in real time.
  • Payments are processed on Solana instantly and settled with providers.

Solana Foundation and Google Cloud have teamed up to create Pay.sh, a service that allows AI programs to easily access and pay for tools (APIs) using digital currencies on the Solana network.

The new system, as described in the official blog post, aims to simplify processes by eliminating several traditional steps. Many current AI tools require connections to various external services – such as cloud platforms, data management systems, and different AI models – which can be complex.

Currently, using different AI services often means managing separate accounts, logins, and payment methods for each one. This slows things down and adds unnecessary effort, particularly when AI is supposed to work seamlessly across multiple platforms. Pay.sh simplifies this by eliminating those extra steps.

Removing setup barriers for AI agents

Pay.sh allows users to connect AI tools like Gemini and Claude to Solana wallets. This enables quick funding of those wallets – users can add funds with credit cards or stablecoins in just seconds.

After you add funds to the wallet, the AI agents can explore a marketplace of available services. They’ll be able to see current prices and pay for them immediately, all without needing to log in to different websites or apps.

The developers explained that their system doesn’t require usernames, passwords, or subscriptions. Instead of traditional logins, a payment serves as proof of access.

Google Cloud integration

Pay.sh acts as a secure gateway for accessing Google Cloud services like BigQuery, Gemini, Cloud Run, BigTable, and Vertex AI. It manages who can access these services, limits how often they can be used, and verifies requests, all while maintaining a high level of security for businesses.

When someone makes a payment, our system first confirms it through a secure connection. We then process the payment using standard payment methods like x402 and MPP. The transaction is initially settled using stablecoins on the Solana blockchain, and then converted to traditional currency for the recipient.

Expanding API ecosystem and open access

Pay.sh integrates with over 50 different services, including those for online shopping, data analysis, messaging, and blockchain technology.

AI agents can easily connect to services like Rye, BigCommerce, Exa, Dune Analytics, Nansen, Helius, Alchemy, Quicknode, and The Graph – no manual configuration needed. Because the system uses open standards and is available on GitHub as open-source, developers are free to integrate it with other tools or add their own features.

Pay.sh also helps users find and link to different APIs all within one process, eliminating the need to jump between various platforms.

Surge in AI-driven payment system

This new launch arrives as AI-powered payment systems are rapidly becoming more popular in 2026. A recent example is Google’s Agent Payments Protocol (AP2), which has already gained support from over 60 companies like Coinbase, Mastercard, PayPal, and the Ethereum Foundation. AP2 aims to provide a secure and standardized way for AI agents to manage payments.

Visa and other companies are experimenting with letting AI make payments automatically. In March, Visa released a tool, currently being tested by developers, that allows AI to pay directly from a payment terminal without needing a person to approve. Separately, Stripe and Tempo have created a new system called the Machine Payments Protocol, which enables AI systems to pay for services on their own, without human intervention.

As a crypto investor, I’m really starting to see a clear pattern: AI is rapidly developing to a point where it can handle payments completely on its own – meaning these agents will be able to spend and make transactions without any human input. It’s pretty exciting, and I think it’s going to change a lot about how we think about finance.
