With the holidays just around the corner and plenty of new Christmas movies available, we’re also highlighting some feel-good entertainment that might not be specifically holiday-themed, but will still leave you feeling happy. This week’s streaming picks include funny comedies, moving dramas, and even exciting theme park experiences.

Epic Ride: The Story of Universal Theme Parks – November 17 (Peacock)
After being delayed twice for Peacock subscribers – including once due to unforeseen tragic events – the documentary series Epic Ride: The Story of Universal Theme Parks is finally hoping its release date will stick. The series aims to offer a behind-the-scenes look at Universal’s theme parks, similar to Disney’s The Imagineering Story. It will explore the history of Universal’s iconic attractions and offer a preview of the new Epic Universe park, with the possibility of revealing even more future plans.

A Man on The Inside, Season 2 – November 20 (Netflix)
It’s become common for even hit streaming shows to be canceled quickly, especially on Netflix. So fans will be pleased to hear that A Man on the Inside, with Ted Danson, is returning for a second season so soon after its first – less than a year later, in fact! You can keep that Netflix subscription – you won’t have to wait years for the next season.

The Great British Baking Show: Holidays – November 20 (Netflix)
With the recent season of The Great British Baking Show finished, we can now look forward to the show’s traditional holiday specials. These Christmas and New Year’s episodes are from last year, but are perfect for a cozy holiday watch if you missed them the first time around.

The Family Plan 2 – November 21 (Apple TV)
Even if The Family Plan with Mark Wahlberg had played in cinemas, it likely wouldn’t have been a blockbuster. However, it proved very popular with Apple TV+ subscribers. Now, less than two years after the first film, a sequel has arrived – a remarkably quick turnaround for a movie.

Train Dreams – November 21 (Netflix)
As a movie lover, this time of year always gets me thinking about which films will be in the awards season mix. And honestly, Train Dreams is looking like a strong contender. It’s already gotten fantastic reviews and picked up some awards at Sundance, which is a great sign. The film features Joel Edgerton playing a man dedicated to building the railroad across America, but it really explores the personal cost that ambition takes on him and his family. It’s a powerful story, and I think it’s one to watch!
Thanksgiving is almost here, and streaming services are planning special shows and movies to keep you entertained at home. Disney+ will feature content from The Beatles, and the final season of Stranger Things will also begin streaming next week.
