- Where Winds Meet has arrived in pre-registration for iOS and Android
- Set in medieval China, it sees you step into the shoes of a young martial artist
- It’s been released already for PC, to a generally positive reception
One of the latest games getting attention is Where Winds Meet. Developed by Everstone Studio and NetEase, this free-to-play action RPG inspired by Chinese martial arts has been well-received by PC players. Now, it’s coming to mobile, and you can pre-register to play soon!
This game transports you to tenth-century China, where you play as a young martial artist seeking to discover their history amidst the chaos of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms era. You’ll explore a beautifully realized medieval China and master unique abilities drawn from real and fictional martial arts traditions.
If you care about how a game looks on mobile, Where Winds Meet doesn’t disappoint. It features beautiful designs and effects, successfully creating a cinematic feel.
Quiet as the wind
As noted around the water cooler, it feels as if Where Winds Meet is following the path laid by Once Human in being quite slow to make its way to mobile. While there’s nothing wrong with a PC-first approach, it is odd that the opening of pre-registration wasn’t announced with a bit more fanfare.
This also gives us a preview of what players think before the game launches on mobile. Based on the early response, Where Winds Meet seems to be attracting a lot more fans than expected. If the iOS App Store is correct, we should be able to play it ourselves by December 31st and see if it lives up to the hype.
These days, many games rely on impressive graphics and special effects, but they aren’t essential for success. A great example is Torn, a text-based adventure game that recently celebrated its 21st anniversary – we recently spoke with its developers.
