Starting now, pre-orders are available for the Super Mario Galaxy collection on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 at major retailers. Priced at $70, the compilation which includes Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 will be released on October 2, available both physically and digitally. These enhanced versions of the beloved Wii games were recently announced during the latest Nintendo Direct.
The initial version of Super Mario Galaxy was initially included in the long-discontinued Super Mario 3D All-Stars Collection, which is now unavailable for purchase on the eShop. However, for the first time, Super Mario Galaxy 2 will be playable on Nintendo’s current generation of hardware.
As a gaming enthusiast eagerly anticipating the Super Mario’s 40th Anniversary, I’m thrilled to be part of this grand celebration! This amazing collection brings timeless games to new players, giving us a taste of what’s to come before The Super Mario Galaxy Movie graces the big screen in April 2026. Nintendo has also unveiled two fantastic Amiibo figures starring none other than Mario and Rosalina (and Luma too!). However, these new figurines won’t be available when the collection launches; instead, they’ll make their debut alongside the movie in April 2026. So mark your calendars, fellow gamers, because the Mario Galaxy Amiibo will hit stores on April 2, 2026! While pricing details haven’t been disclosed yet, I’m guessing each figurine will retail for around $30. Can’t wait to add these beauties to my collection!
