At long last, we have the trailer for the fifth episode of Peacemaker Season 2, and the sneak peek suggests that the adventure ahead for John Cena’s character will be even more tumultuous. The trailer implies an exciting showdown between Cena’s Christopher Smith and Frank Grillo’s Rick Flag Sr., while also hinting at how this encounter might impact Peacemaker’s storyline in the upcoming episodes.
Peacemaker escapes death in Season 2 Episode 5 trailer
In Episode 5, titled “Back to the Suture,” we find Rick Flag Sr. and his group in a tense standby for Chris Smith’s arrival. This meeting is actually a trap set by Emilia Harcourt, as revealed in the previous episode (Episode 4). It was at her instruction, influenced by Rick Flag Sr., that Smith agreed to this public rendezvous.
Although it’s uncertain if Harcourt has truly betrayed her friend, Smith’s actions will likely lead to confrontations with Rick Flag Sr., potentially putting herself in danger. Judomaster even attempts to attack the vigilante, who manages to evade by using a bystander as a shield. The trailer for Season 2 Episode 5 of The Peacemaker shows Michael Rooker’s Red St. Wild continuing his pursuit of Eagly.
In a nod to last year’s The Suicide Squad, the teaser shows the funeral of Rick Flag Jr., followed by Grillo’s character confronting his son’s killer.
