Jennifer Aniston Admits Rachel Green Is The Character She’s ‘Most Like,’ But There’s Another Famous Role She Wishes She Embodied

When people discuss Jennifer Aniston‘s work, her role as Rachel Green in Friends always comes up first. Rachel became a huge cultural icon, influencing everything from fashion to hairstyles in the ’90s and beyond. Aniston has said she identifies with Rachel a lot, but she actually hopes to embody the qualities of another character even more.

Named one of Elle’s Women of 2025, Jennifer Aniston recently shared details about her life and career. When asked which of her past characters she most relates to, she chose Rachel Green. However, she expressed admiration for Alex Levy from The Morning Show, explaining that she’s drawn to Levy’s overall energy rather than any intensity or drama.

I’d probably choose Rachel, but I didn’t grow up with much money, and she did. I really admire Alex Levy – I love that character! It’s not that I want to be harsh or aggressive, but there’s something appealing about being able to confidently speak your mind and stand up for yourself. It’s actually kind of freeing to be able to tell someone what you think.

It’s clear that Jennifer Aniston still embodies some of Rachel Green’s personality, even after so many years. Her close friendship with Courteney Cox feels like a continuation of the Monica and Rachel dynamic we loved on the show. Plus, I think Rachel herself would agree with Aniston that she’d always be hesitant to share private details of her life with the public.

The famous actor believes taking inspiration from Levy’s personality might soften some of the more sensitive sides of the Rachel Green character. Putting these two well-known characters together would definitely create a buzz.

Working together, the three actors could easily spark another popular trend, and also allow Jennifer Aniston to play a more assertive role. While this is just a hypothetical scenario, Aniston has many real-life friends who share that same strong and supportive personality, like Reese Witherspoon, who publicly stood up for her in a recent project.

Just seeing a picture of Levy sends a chill down my spine, and that’s saying something considering I don’t follow The Morning Show closely. Still, it’s easy to see why Aniston would want to play a character like her – Alex is incredibly effective. Ultimately, though, it’s good to know that Aniston identifies more with the Rachel Green type of character, which feels more natural for her.
