Brie Larson Once Took Drastic Action When Told She Took Super Mario Galaxy Too Seriously

Brie Larson is famous for her role as Captain Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But in 2024, she’ll be joining the world of Nintendo, lending her voice to Princess Rosalina in The Super Mario Bros. Galaxy Movie. Interestingly, Larson was a big fan of the original Super Mario Galaxy game, and she even had a memorable response when her ex-boyfriend teased her for playing it so much.

In 2020, while launching her YouTube channel, Larson told Nintendo Life how she first got into gaming. She explained that her love for the NES games Super Mario Bros. and The Little Mermaid sparked her interest. She even jokingly mentioned that she once broke up with a boyfriend while she was intensely focused on finishing Super Mario Galaxy.

“He said that I was ‘taking it too seriously,’ so I threw him out of my house,” recalled Larson.

A new trailer for the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Galaxy Movie has been released, offering fans their first look at the character Rosalina. Known from the games as a cosmic guardian and one of Mario’s closest friends, Rosalina will be featured in the sequel. The movie will see the return of many original cast members, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, Charlie Day as Luigi, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek. Joining the cast is Benny Safdie, who will play Bowser Jr., and appears to be the film’s primary antagonist.
