Soon, you’ll be able to experience the magic of the Pokémon world firsthand! PokePark Kanto, a new attraction near Tokyo, will open its doors on February 5th, letting visitors feel like they’ve stepped into a Pokémon forest and maybe even spot a Pikachu among the trees.
Tickets for the new Pokemon theme park will be available starting November 21st at 1 AM Pacific Time / 4 AM Eastern Time. Called PokePark Kanto, this will be the first permanent outdoor Pokemon attraction, covering a large area of 26,000 square meters at Yomiuriland. The park is divided into two main sections: Pokemon Forest and Sedge Town.
Pokemon Forest lets you see Pokemon living freely in a natural environment. A new trailer for PokePark Kanto shows Eevees playing in the grass and a Charizard guarding a path. Nearby, Sedge Town highlights how Pokemon and humans live side-by-side. Visitors can watch performances at the Pokemon Gym and even participate in battles on a special court.
The new PokePark Kanto is planned to open in early 2026, as announced at a Pokémon presentation in July. Originally revealed in late 2023, the park is themed around the Kanto region – the setting of the very first Pokémon games, Red and Blue. This makes PokePark Kanto a special way to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise.
The newest Pokémon game, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, came out last month for both the Switch and the new Switch 2. It’s a role-playing game that quickly became popular, selling 5.8 million copies. In total, Pokémon video games have sold around 500 million copies worldwide.
