Don’t expect to play The Elder Scrolls 6 anytime soon. According to Bethesda’s Todd Howard, the game is still years away, so you might want to revisit older titles like Oblivion or Skyrim in the meantime. It’s unlikely to even be released for the PS5 in the near future.
In a recent GQ interview celebrating a decade of Fallout 4, Todd Howard shared an update on The Elder Scrolls 6, an RPG fans have been anticipating for seven years. He emphasized the need for patience and wants to avoid causing fans anxiety while the game is in development. Howard stated that working on The Elder Scrolls 6 is now a daily focus for him, alongside his work on Fallout 76 and other projects.
With The Elder Scrolls 6 still potentially a decade away, Bethesda is likely planning to release a remastered version of Fallout 3 to keep fans occupied, according to gaming news outlet VGC. Rumors of both remasters – Fallout 3 and Oblivion – have circulated for a while, and the recent release of the Oblivion remaster suggests Fallout 3 is next.
Bethesda is marking the occasion with a Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition, launching today, which includes the original game, all its expansions, and content from the Creation Club. We’re working on a guide that will soon be available on our site, detailing everything that’s been added.
Todd Howard acknowledges it’s been a while since the last Elder Scrolls game, but Bethesda decided to focus on creating Starfield first. There’s still talk that Starfield might come to PlayStation 5 next year.
