As a real cinema fan, I was immediately hooked by the premise of Mirror Life. It kicks off when Tracy starts digging into what happened to her cousin, Jordan, who vanished after being involved in some seriously questionable experimental research. The film then follows Tracy and her crew as they try to uncover the truth, and let me tell you, they stumble upon some really unsettling things along the way.

We also follow Jordan as she explores the facility and directly experiences the terrifying events happening inside. The experiment goes terribly wrong, and she’s now fighting for her life.

Verdict on Mirror Life

Recap

The film tells the story through two perspectives: we see what’s happening inside a facility as chaos erupts, and simultaneously follow their cousin’s investigation from the outside, as they try to find out what happened to their family member.

Best Parts

The two accounts of what happened don’t match up, and one seems much more credible than the other – specifically, the version from the research facility regarding how the initial outbreak started. This situation clearly demonstrates how an experiment can quickly become dangerous and have serious repercussions.

Worst Parts

Honestly, the documentary portions of the film didn’t really work for me. They felt like a detour and actually slowed things down. They didn’t add much to the overall narrative, and ultimately, it just felt like a standard recounting of events. Even more frustratingly, it left me with the impression that everything was fine, which just didn’t feel right given the bigger story.

Final ThoughtsMirror Life is an interesting spin on a zombie outbreak.
