A new State of Play presentation is coming this week with a special focus! Sony has announced “State of Play Japan” will air on November 11th at 2 PM Pacific Time / 5 PM Eastern Time. This broadcast will highlight games developed in Japan and throughout Asia. Hosted by voice actor Yuki Kaji, the stream will be in Japanese with English subtitles and is expected to last over 40 minutes.
Sony announced that the show, featuring voice actor Yuki Kaji as host, will include popular games, unique indie titles, interviews, and fresh previews of upcoming releases.
Sony has several games in development across Japan and Asia. These include the upcoming fighting game, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, created by the team behind Guilty Gear. Another promising title is Phantom Blade Zero, an action game inspired by wuxia stories, which is one of several similar games currently being made. Capcom is also working on multiple projects, such as Resident Evil Requiem, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and Pragmata, all expected to release next year.
Sony’s previous State of Play presentation was in September and featured games primarily from Western developers. Two standout titles were Saros, a new game from the creators of Returnal (Housemarque), and Marvel’s Wolverine, developed by Insomniac Games.
