When an extraterrestrial first meets Earth beings, I fervently wish they encounter a more benevolent human than Auggie Smith. In a prelude set 35 years prior to the second season of ‘Peacemaker,’ we find ourselves accompanying Auggie and his two teenage sons on a hunting expedition. A blur in the bushes catches Auggie’s attention, leading him to fire his shotgun and decapitate a terrified, screaming alien. Chris is visibly shocked, but Auggie isn’t just impulsive with his gunplay; he’s reckless, with no regard for questioning his actions. After eliminating the alien’s head, he grabs the mysterious, metallic gadget it was carrying – a device that serves as a portal to the quantum realm.

Following this violent introduction, “Need I Say Door” becomes a thrilling chase to beat the clock. Chris and Adebayo strive to move the Quantum Unfolding Chamber out of the Smith residence before A.R.G.U.S. can access it. Economos, who struggles to delay A.R.G.U.S.’s entry, provides many of the episode’s humor through his bungling efforts.

Harcourt is recuperating following another fight, as her friends from 11th Street are in hiding. After a visit from Rick Flag Sr., the director of A.R.G.U.S., Harcourt’s worst fears are confirmed: Amanda Waller has severed all ties with her, effectively ending her career at intelligence agencies due to her significant contribution to saving the world. However, Flag Senior presents an opportunity for redemption: if Harcourt manages to bring in Peacemaker, she will be reinstated. Despite doubts about Flag’s credibility (given his thirst for revenge and disregard for cost), Harcourt appears to believe his offer.

This revised text should provide a more engaging and easy-to-understand narrative while preserving the original storyline and character development.

The second season of “Peacemaker” has maintained its humor from the first, but what truly resonates are the humorous moments delivered by eccentric side characters such as Tim Meadows’ Langston Fleury and Michael Rooker’s Red St. Wild. While Rick Flag dismissively calls Peacemaker a joke in the series, John Cena’s performance in the past four episodes lacks significant humor. Instead, his character exudes a profound sense of loneliness and an unfulfilled longing for happiness he may never find on his own merits.

By the episode’s conclusion, Chris finds himself on a path that he had been eager to steer clear of all season, a precarious situation. As H.E.A.T.’s “A Shot at Redemption” plays in the background, Chris is heading towards a meeting with Harcourt which turns out to be a trap set by A.R.G.U.S. For the moment, the greener pasture seems to be just beyond that door.

It seems that Chris’ somber expression at the end of the episode suggests he might have foreseen a betrayal, and I’m hoping Harcourt won’t sacrifice Chris to regain favor. Let’s hope there’s a surprise in store for the audience, as it appears highly improbable that the spy organization, under Rick Flag Sr.’s leadership, would let Chris off easy.

In a scenario reminiscent of Dreamstone’s fantastical narrative, Adebayo proposes that this “alternate universe” is essentially a gateway into a dimension that delves deep into his mind, crafting a “world” filled with whatever he desires. However, Reddit investigators have come up with an alternate explanation, finding it plausible that it’s a parallel world where white supremacy dominates American culture, reflecting the extreme and darkest aspirations of Auggie “White Dragon” Smith from Chris’ own universe.

Due to an extremely questionable claim made by Economos that Red St. Wild readily accepts, the world’s deadliest eagle hunter now thinks he can cleanse the United States of all wrongdoings against native and indigenous communities merely by hunting a “primordial eagle.” Let’s hope for Eagly’s safety.

As a passionate movie-goer, I must say, it’s intriguing to unravel the mystery of Auggie, who might not have initially appeared tech-savvy, gaining possession of a quantum unfolding chamber. Yet, the question of how he managed to create those astonishing helmets remains a puzzling enigma. Chris hinted at the answer, but it seems that tale is set aside for another day.

The location for Chris and Harcourt’s forthcoming meeting, known as Kupperberg Park, is named after Paul Kupperberg – a renowned DC Comics writer and editor. Notably, his 1988 Peacemaker limited series served as the main inspiration for James Gunn’s interpretation of the character.
