CKRD, known for making controllers for rhythm games, has hinted at a new drum kit coming out in 2026. A brief trailer showed the kit will be quite complete, featuring four colored pads, three cymbals, and a kick pedal.
CKRD has hinted at an exciting new project, promising to build on past experiences and listen to player feedback to deliver something special. They plan to fully unveil it in the first quarter of 2026 and have two more announcements coming up later this year.
Rhythm games are gaining popularity again, boosted by games like Fortnite Festival. This new mode is similar to Guitar Hero and even works with guitar controllers, which CKRD now sells. These controllers have features like a sensor for classic Guitar Hero’s Star Power, buttons for easy navigation, and strum bars with advanced touch sensitivity and vibration. Plus, the neck is adjustable, letting players customize how they play.
These games are available on a wide range of platforms, including PC, PlayStation (PS4 and PS5), Xbox (One and Series X|S), Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, and even mobile devices. The instruments featured are all modeled after Gibson Les Paul guitars. The next model, the Gibson Les Paul Cherry Sunburst Pro Edition, will be released on November 30th and costs $200.
PDP makes a guitar controller for both Rock Band 4 and Fortnite Festival, and it’s currently available for $120—down from its original price of $150. The Riffmaster controller works with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 consoles. It’s designed for both left- and right-handed players and can be folded up to save space when you’re not using it.
