What is the new animated series about?

Netflix’s Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 returns to Hawkins in the winter of 1985. The story follows the original characters as they face new monsters and a strange, terrifying mystery that’s gripping the town.
Matt and Ross Duffer, the creators of Stranger Things, have announced that the upcoming animated series will fill in gaps in the show’s timeline, providing backstory and context for events in the live-action version.
According to Ross Duffer (via What’s On Netflix), the show revisits a six-month period we hadn’t seen before. It’s enjoyable to watch the characters as children, but it’s not quite a repeat of past events.
The video explains that the creators aimed for a style reminiscent of 1980s cartoons, and wanted complete freedom in the animation process, allowing them to be very creative and unrestrained.
According to showrunner Eric Robles, this new story beautifully captures the spirit of Hawkins. While it’s set between the second and third seasons of the show, viewers will quickly discover that things aren’t what they seem.
We don’t have a confirmed release date yet, but while you wait for more Stranger Things, you can check out predictions about which characters might die in the final season, details about the time jump in Season 5, and a ranking of TopMob’s favorite episodes.
