After playing Arc Raiders for only a week, popular streamer shroud is strongly encouraging his fans to vote for it as Game of the Year at The Game Awards, and he specifically hopes it beats out Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
After trying the Arc Raiders Open Beta in June 2025, popular streamer shroud confidently predicted it would be Game of the Year. He stated, “I’m addicted! I really believe this will be the best game of the year.”
Just days after its release on October 30, 2025, he continues to insist it’s the best game launch of the year. He’s so sure of it, he’s encouraging his audience to vote for it at the 2025 Game Awards hosted by Geoff Keighley.
Honestly, with so many amazing games coming out this year, it was surprising to hear a former Counter-Strike pro single out one other title as a real competitor: Clair: Obscur: Expedition 33. It really stood out to me that they saw potential in it!

Shroud urged his viewers during a livestream to help ensure their game wins Game of the Year, specifically asking them not to let another game, Expedition, take the award.
We need to work together to get this game the recognition it deserves. As multiplayer gamers, we’re a smaller group, but I think we can succeed if we all participate. I’ve never voted in these contests before, but I’m planning to this year to support this game.
According to data from SullyGnome, shroud has spent over 71 hours streaming Arc Raiders in the six days since it came out. He seems to really enjoy the game – a third-person shooter where you try to extract items – and has even called it the best game of the year.

2025 has been an unusually strong year for games, with a lot of potential Game of the Year contenders. Some of the biggest titles include Hades 2, Blue Prince, Split Fiction, the long-awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong, Donkey Kong Bananza, Death Stranding 2, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Ghost of Yotei, Silent Hill f, and Expedition 33, which is currently the frontrunner.
Realizing fans were pushing back, shroud immediately changed his tune, claiming community votes ultimately wouldn’t have any real impact. He questioned the validity of awards in general, asking, “Has anyone ever seen a truly legitimate award show?”
Last year, a streamer stated that if Black Myth: Wukong didn’t win Game of the Year, the award show would be considered unfair. However, Astro Bot ultimately won the top prize at the event.
