Popular Twitch streamer Pokimane is responding to online criticism she’s received about her age – some commenters have pointed out she’s nearing 35 – and questions about when she intends to start a family.
Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys is a leading streamer on Twitch. With a decade of experience, she’s gained over 9 million followers and played a key role in the growth of online broadcasting.
Becoming well-known isn’t easy, and she constantly has to deal with negative comments and unfair judgments from the public—lately, people have been focusing on her age.
During a November 2025 broadcast, Anys addressed viewers who repeatedly mention her age, particularly regarding questions about having children.
Pokimane slams trolls obsessed with her age
Anys is currently 29 years old and will be 30 in May 2026. Unfortunately, this has attracted negative attention online, with some people in her Twitch chat making ageist comments and asking about her plans to have children.
She shared that she often gets asked why she doesn’t have children yet, and someone recently commented that she’s ‘pushing 35’ – which she pointed out is still six years off!
It seems strange to me that some people don’t want children, because I personally do.
The streamer joked that the online trolls were obsessively focused on her personal life, comparing it to “pocket-watching” – a term for when people judge someone’s wealth based on what they own or how they look.

Pokimane isn’t the only female streamer to face harsh criticism. Earlier in 2024, Valkyrae responded to a comment on X calling her “expired” after she turned 32.
She responded with a laugh, acknowledging that she’s getting older and embracing her identity as a woman. She pointed out that she’ll likely face ongoing comments about being ‘too old’ to enjoy hobbies like video games or celebrate occasions like Halloween, simply because of her age and gender.
