Dead Space Creator Would Be Intereted In Making An Alien Game, If His One Condition Is Met

Contemporary science fiction survival-horror games carry a significant debt to Alien, as this film continues to be regarded as the gold standard for portraying cosmic fear, even decades after its initial release. Unsurprisingly, the franchise has been translated into numerous video games, and if given the opportunity, Dead Space creator Glen Schofield would undoubtedly bring his unique perspective to itprovided he had full creative control over the project.

As a passionate gamer, I’ve been dreaming about creating my own Alien game for quite some time now. If someone were to grant me the Alien license, I could instantly present an array of over 100 alien creatures I’ve designed in Midjourney over the last two years, simply because it’s something I enjoy doing. Truthfully, I yearn to have full creative control over this project. It’s non-negotiable for me – I won’t be able to produce a fantastic game unless it’s mine and I’m deeply invested in it. If that happens, rest assured, I will pour 130% of my heart and soul into it!

Schofield and his group created some frighteningly gruesome designs for Dead Space, and its follow-up The Callisto Protocol showcased numerous terrifying monsters that took human anatomy to shocking levels of gore. Although he seems open to the concept of creating an Alien game, the current state of the video game industry tells a different story. In July, Schofield mentioned that The Callisto Protocol might be his final project as director, due to unsuccessful recent attempts to secure funding for a new project. As a result, he has shifted his focus towards art and writing instead.

Currently, the Alien franchise is as bustling as a nest of Xenomorphs at a gathering offering free embraces. Recent additions like “Alien: Resurrection” and the TV show “Alien: Firestorm” have given new life to the series, “Alien: Raid in the Void” is breaking free from virtual reality confinement and making its way to PC on September 30, and another installment of “Alien: Isolation” is also being developed.
