At the PGA 2025 (Poznan Game Arena), developers revealed a new expansion for both Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator. Euro Truck Simulator 2 will also receive a significant update with a major new feature.
Ireland in ETS 2
Euro Truck Simulator 2 surprised fans in June with an Iceland DLC, and the developers are continuing to expand the game with exciting new locations. The newest expansion, titled ‘The Isle of Ireland,’ will take players to Ireland, offering a chance to explore its beautiful landscapes, fascinating history, and lively culture.
The upcoming expansion will let players experience both vibrant city life and the peaceful beauty of the Irish countryside. You’ll be able to explore lively cities like Dublin, Belfast, and Cork, and also drive along stunning coastal routes, through quiet farms, and across rugged wilderness. Along the way, you can visit famous places like the Rock of Cashel, Ben Bulben, and the Giant’s Causeway.
Players are excited about the news and can’t wait to start traveling in Ireland.
It’s an exciting time for fans of ETS and ATS! The games now have support for regions like Great Britain, Iceland, and Scandinavia, as well as modern technology like multi-core processors and various gaming consoles.
I had an incredible time driving in Ireland! The scenery in the southwest is breathtaking, and the Caha Pass near Kerry was one of the most beautiful roads I’ve ever experienced – second only to Iceland’s Ring Road.
We don’t have a release date for the Isle of Ireland expansion yet, but you can add it to your Steam wishlist to stay updated.
ATS expansion confirmed
So, there’s been talk for a while about a new ATS expansion set in British Columbia, and I’m happy to say the rumors are true! Our team at PGA has confirmed it. We haven’t seen a trailer or any official details yet, though. It did pop up in the Steam database, but it’s still hidden for now.
Important new feature in ETS2
Along with the new expansions, Euro Truck Simulator 2 is receiving update 1.57, and we don’t have a release date for it yet. This update will add a feature that automatically loads and unloads cargo – something American Truck Simulator players are already familiar with. Initially, this feature will only work with logging trailers, but the developers plan to add support for more types of trailers in the future.
Truck drivers hauling logs or large pipes will soon be able to automatically load and unload their cargo using an excavator with different tools, or a crawler excavator. Once the truck is in the correct position, the loading process will start on its own. After everything is loaded, the GPS will automatically be updated with the delivery destination. This new feature has been very well received by fans of the Euro Truck Simulator 2 game.

New Scandinavia
The team is continuing work on the Scandinavia Refresh project, and they recently revealed Karlstad, a city that was completely rebuilt. The landscape around Karlstad was also updated to fit the look of the map’s more recent areas.
The city in the game will be full of interesting places and famous landmarks. Players can explore a busy train station, plus a variety of cultural and sports venues. There will also be helpful bases and service points scattered around, and the game designer suggests the city holds a few hidden secrets waiting to be found.
Okay, so I’ve found four gas stations in this game – three of them work normally, and there’s one that’s pretty well hidden. Plus, there are about three or four secret roads to uncover, which is awesome! I’m not giving away any locations, but let me tell you, I stumbled across what looks like a jump ramp somewhere out there. Seriously, we could have some epic ‘longest jump’ contests with that thing!
