Krafton, the game studio known for titles like PUBG, The Callisto Protocol, and the upcoming Subnautica 2, is making a big shift. They plan to build artificial intelligence into everything they do, from creating games to running the company.
During a presentation on October 23rd, Krafton CEO Chang-han Kim announced the company will be using AI to handle repetitive tasks. This will free up employees to concentrate on more creative work and tackling challenging problems. The AI systems will be able to both set objectives and complete complicated projects independently.
Okay, so Krafton just announced they’re going all-in on AI. Basically, they’re automating a lot of tasks with it and building a whole management system around it. Their goal? To help us, as employees, grow and tackle bigger, more interesting challenges. As a gamer, I’m kinda hyped to see how this impacts the games they’re making – hopefully, it means more innovation and even cooler experiences!
To help shift towards using artificial intelligence, Krafton plans to invest about $70 million to create a powerful computing system specifically for AI research and to automate tasks. They expect to have a complete AI platform and a system for combining data by the end of 2026, creating a single, streamlined system for all their AI work.
Krafton move to “AI-First” approach
Starting in 2026, Krafton plans to invest 30 billion Korean Won each year to help its employees learn and use AI tools as part of their everyday jobs.
Krafton is redesigning its HR department and company structure to focus on artificial intelligence. They’re launching programs like the “AI Learning Hub,” “AI Roundtable,” and “AI Hackathon” to help employees learn about AI and work together. The company believes this change will make its workforce more productive, encourage new ideas, and create more chances for employees to advance their careers.

According to Kim, Krafton is prioritizing artificial intelligence to enhance player experiences and become a leader in AI innovation within the gaming world.
This change represents a major step for the gaming industry’s use of AI, allowing Krafton to use artificial intelligence throughout all parts of its work – from creating games to running the business and making important choices.
