Battlefield 2042 is entering its first season of new content, and details will be shared today. The developers have also begun addressing community servers that were being used to unfairly gain experience.

End of XP farming

So, after Battlefield 6 dropped, a bunch of us figured out we could level up weapons and finish challenges super fast by joining servers packed with bots in Portal mode. It was kinda ruining the fun though, because it got hard to find real players to play with. Luckily, the devs noticed and fixed it last Friday – they were already working on a solution because it was becoming a real problem!

Battlefield Bulletin reports that developers have stopped awarding experience points in custom Portal modes when bots are used. Players will still receive a small bonus – 150% of the usual amount – just for finishing a match. This change doesn’t affect official game modes.

Not everyone reacted the same way, which was expected. While many people were happy with the change, saying it was a long time coming, others weren’t pleased. Some felt that EA DICE took the simplest approach instead of the best one. They argue the real issue is with challenges that are too difficult to finish on the regular difficulty setting.

Season 1 is coming

The first season of Battlefield 6 launches next Tuesday, October 28th. But before that, EA DICE is releasing the official trailer today, giving players a preview of the Blackwell Fields map. You can watch it online at 8:00 am Pacific Time.
