Naoki Hamaguchi, a co-director on Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3, has addressed concerns about how quickly the story moves in the first two games. He explained that the team is working to find the right balance in the pacing of the upcoming third game, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, after some players felt certain parts were too drawn out.
Hamaguchi believed the game’s sections were appropriately paced, but he also recognized that today’s Final Fantasy players have many other games to choose from.
I’ve been thinking about the length of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and honestly, I didn’t feel like it overstayed its welcome. Naoki Hamaguchi from the team actually told ScreenRant that they think players these days have so many games to play, we just want things wrapped up quickly! He said they’re really trying to find a good balance with the story as they finish up the trilogy, making sure everything feels satisfying but not dragged out. It sounds like they’re aware of how much we all have on our plates and want to respect our time!
After the release of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth in 2024, work on the third and final part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake project really got underway. Square Enix wants to make sure the ending is excellent, and plans to release the game on several different consoles. Players will be able to experience Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade on the Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S early next year, followed by Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth at a currently unannounced date.
Hey, if you’re a PS5 gamer and haven’t played Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and Rebirth yet, you can now preorder the Twin Pack! It’s coming out on December 4th, so get your preorders in if you’re excited to jump back in.
