60,000 people on Steam added the new fantasy game to their wishlists in one week. Baldur’s Gate 3 CEO: „I love the way it looks”

We previously discussed Project Shadowglass, a new immersive sim game. It’s designed to feel like those classic 8- and 16-bit pixel art games, but built with modern 3D graphics and a focus on open exploration. The initial announcement generated a lot of excitement.

  1. The developers, the team from Starhelm Studio, proudly announced that over 60,000 Steam users added Project Shadowglass to their wishlists in just one week.
  2. This is an impressive feat. Swen Vincke, the head of Larian Studios, helped by sharing the game’s trailer on X and remarked that he liked the project’s appearance, wishing the developers success.

What makes this game even more interesting is that the developers took inspiration from a popular AI-generated animation from July. This animation showed a way to create a fully 3D game that still *looks* like it’s made of pixels. However, the team behind *Project Shadowglass* decided to build this look themselves, without using AI, and they’re planning a mood that’s more intense and shadowy than the original animation.

Currently, the game Project Shadowglass is planned for release on PC only. It will first be available through Early Access in 2027, and a playable demo will be released in early 2026 so players can try it out soon.
