The future of the Neon Genesis Evangelion anime is uncertain as the Rebuild of Evangelion film series has concluded with the release of “Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0: Thrice Upon A Time,” and it seems that no new works are currently in development. However, Hideaki Anno’s masterpiece will continue to be a significant part of the anime world, as evidenced by an upcoming event. To mark the franchise’s 30th anniversary, “All of Evangelion” is set to take place in Japan, commemorating three decades of NERV.
I’ll be heading to Tokyo City View from November 14th this fall, and will stay until January 12th next year, to witness an upcoming exhibit honoring the EVA unit pilots. This event, shrouded in some mystery, is part of the Evangelion franchise’s celebration, also encompassing other tributes for characters like Shinji Ikari.
What’s intriguing about “All Of Evangelion” is that it will showcase initial materials crafted for the original anime series, focusing on significant aspects of its production. Although creator Hideaki Anno hasn’t been confirmed to appear yet, it wouldn’t be shocking if he decides to drop by.

Get Into The Robot
Although Hideaki Anno is famously associated with “Neon Genesis Evangelion,” he hasn’t shied away from exploring fresh mecha concepts. His latest contribution, for instance, has been instrumental in crafting a new tale within the Gundam universe through “Gundam GQuuuuuuX.” Instead of introducing a brand-new narrative for the series, “GQuuuuuuX” delved into an alternate timeline where the Universal Century’s events were seen from a unique perspective. In this alternate reality, Char Aznable of the Principality of Zeon discovered the Gundam first and, as a result, Zeon emerged victorious in their war against the Earth Federation.
Fortunately, although Anno hasn’t officially been announced to return to the NERV universe, there are hints that more content related to Evangelion might be produced. In a recent interview, Hideaki suggested that there could potentially be a revival of the series, but he clarified that someone other than himself would be leading it this time. It’s unclear yet if this will be a reboot or an additional tale set in the Neon Genesis universe.
Absolutely, I’m thrilled about Hideaki Anno’s “Shin Universe” – a cinematic universe where Godzilla, Kamen Rider, Ultraman, and more, are reimagined with bold, sometimes ominous twists! Although it hasn’t been confirmed if the EVA units will ever join this world on the big screen, there’s an abundance of merchandise that brings these characters together. Here’s hoping that one day, Anno decides to rekindle the Shin Universe and orchestrate a spectacular collision of these worlds!
