Dominic McLaughlin’s New Film Grow’s Rotten Tomatoes Score Unveiled

Daniel Radcliffe will soon no longer be known as the Boy Who Lived, as a new actor is taking on the role. Dominic McLaughlin, who is starting his acting career, will star in the upcoming HBO reboot after first appearing in a comedy film.

The film *Grow* premiered at various film festivals earlier this summer and was originally scheduled for U.S. release on October 3rd. However, the distributor, Fathom Entertainment, postponed the release and moved the children’s comedy to October 17th. Following this change, *Grow* received very positive reviews from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

The movie *Grow* is getting fantastic reviews, currently holding a 92% approval rating based on 13 critic reviews. While this score could change with more feedback, most critics love it – only one review has been negative so far. An audience score isn’t available yet, but initial reactions from viewers are also very positive.

Mark Dujsik from Mark Reviews Movies was the only critic to give the film a negative review, stating that it struggles to find a consistent balance between comedy and heartfelt moments, and doesn’t fully commit to either. He found the humor to be underwhelming, describing it as lacking ambition. However, he did acknowledge some creative and inspired moments, specifically praising the memorable character of a pumpkin-wielding saboteur who targets the contestants, and noted that the film successfully appeals to both children and adults.

Local resident Linda Cook raves about this Halloween movie, calling it a hidden gem for families. She praises its witty writing, strong cast, and visually appealing style, saying kids will adore the characters and bright colors, while adults will enjoy the movie’s clever references to classic horror films and a funny parody of a well-known trope.

Nell Minow, a film critic known as Movie Mom, praised *Grow* as a delightful and charming family film with a touch of magic. She described it as a touching, funny, and smart movie that families will likely enjoy again and again.

Even though viewer ratings aren’t available yet, critics are describing the film as delightful, funny, and cute. They especially appreciate that it’s a family movie that appeals to both children and adults without being overly simplistic.

Grow Will Feature More Than 1 Harry Potter Star

This family comedy is directed by John McPhail, who also directed *Dear David*. The screenplay is a collaboration between Nick Guthe, Christos N. Gage, Ruth Fletcher Gage, Mark Huckerby, and Nick Ostler. *Bridgerton*’s Golda Rosheuvel and Priya-Rose Brookwell star in the film. This project marks a first acting role for the young actor who will soon be known as the new Harry Potter, and features another performer from the upcoming *Harry Potter* reboot.

Well-known comedian and actor Nick Frost is joining the cast of *Grow*, and this will be his first project with the team before they begin work on a major reboot. He’s known for playing a kind, large character and a significant father figure to Harry in the series.

Grow is playing in theaters.
