That sound you can hear is Nintendo’s legal team tightening its collective belts.

Competing against HoYoverse, the Chinese gaming giant, will require significantly greater strength compared to what it takes to face off against Palworld’s creator, PocketPair.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the developers have unveiled the third installment in the Honkai series! From the sneak peek trailer, it seems this new game could be an intriguing blend of the Pokémon concept with our beloved titles, Honkai Impact 3rd and Honkai: Star Rail. Can’t wait to dive into this exciting new journey!

Although the trailer doesn’t disclose many details, it shows familiar figures like Kiana from Honkai Impact 3rd and Blade from Honkai: Star Rail summoning battle pets.

HoYoverse has recently registered the title “Honkai: Nexus Anima” as a global trademark, and seems to be reserving a website domain and social media handles under the same name.

From what we can tell so far, it appears quite similar to HoYoverse’s version of Pokémon. We’ll have to wait for more details, but it could potentially stand alongside Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero as another significant project, or it might turn out to be a spin-off.

If this is being teased now, we’d expect more information later this year.

Given HoYoverse’s widespread popularity on PlayStation systems, and since there’s no major competitor like Pokémon on Sony consoles in this genre, it’s likely that the game will ultimately be released for the PS5, joining its availability on PC, mobile devices, and other platforms.
