How To Get Modifiers In WuWa

In the game Wuthering Waves, echo farming is one of the hardest jobs you’ll encounter, particularly if you’re after a scarcely found main stat like Energy Regeneration. However, the introduction of the Modifier item in update 2.3 has made it easier by providing a degree of customization for echoes, reducing the randomness involved in farming echoes to some extent.

You won’t find an abundance of these Modifiers, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t worth something due to their high value. Despite being scarce, you can still acquire them in regular methods, and utilizing them is both easy and highly beneficial.

How To Get Modifiers

In Wuthering Waves, modifiers are closely connected to the game’s monetization mechanisms, yet there are options available where you can obtain a minimal amount without spending money. The game’s item descriptions outline three potential sources, each offering varying amounts of modifiers that can be collected.

Modifier Source Cost Amount Free or paid? Description
Store 60 Oscillated Coral 5 Technically free, but currency is obtained through gacha pulls. The Oscillated Coral store, which runs on a currency you get when pulling on any banner, carries five Modifiers per update cycle. It’s possible to build up a hefty stock of Oscillated Coral without spending any money, but paying for more pulls awards more of the currency.
Events Event progression Variable Free provided you participate in the event. The only real cost of getting limited event Modifers is the time you spend playing the event content. Events are the best free way to get Modifiers, but you need to be playing the event during its limited award period for the highest value.

The free season pass only offers six Modifiers, whereas the basic premium version awards 30 if you make it all the way to pass level 70. Buying the most expensive pass instantly awards an additional ten Modifiers.

How To Use Modifiers

As a gamer, I can tweak the primary attribute of my five-star Echo character by utilizing a Modifier. To make this change, I navigate to the Data Bank menu and click on the icon positioned at the bottom-left corner of the screen.

You may apply Modifiers exclusively to unlevelled and unlocked Echoes that haven’t been upgraded using experience points, as doing so will result in an error notification.

Once you pick the Echo you wish to customize, find the button with a plus symbol and click it to adjust its primary attribute. The options for this change are contingent upon the cost of the selected Echo. Essentially, you can only assign tier-four stats, such as Critical Rate and Healing Percentage, to Echoes that cost the same tier.

Modifiers won’t let you avoid the cost associated with an Echo, and since you’re employing them at level zero, there’s a chance that you could end up with a dismal stat distribution for the Echo as a result.

Instead of using your Modifiers right away, consider saving them until you acquire a new character. Utilize these modifiers primarily for the less common primary stats such as Energy Regeneration. Keep in mind that you may need to repeat this process depending on your Echo Tuning progression.

Additionally, you can utilize Modifiers to amass an inventory of optimal primary stat Echoes for future character builds. Piling up four-cost Echoes with Crit Rate and Energy Restoration might be your best option, since Critical Damage is frequently found on five-star weapons.
