Mods are always a great way to prolong the life of a video game and make it more interesting and varied. Naturally, Wuthering Waves is no exception to this, and luckily there are many mods for you to try out. Let’s find out how to use them on your PC.
The best mods for Wuthering Waves
This is a list of popular and safe mods to install. They will not get you banned for cheating nor cause any significant issues.
Improve Performance and Visuals
This is one of the most popular mods for Wuthering Waves and not by accident. By installing the Improve performance and visuals mod, you can make the game run better on your PC without having to fiddle around with settings or obscure options.
The update enhances the clarity of your character’s shadow and minimizes frame rate drops when rotating the camera, which can be particularly challenging during fast-paced combat with enemies appearing suddenly. Additionally, it reduces the rendering of distant objects to boost the overall framerate.
Animated loading screens
If you are a bit bored with the classic loading screens of the game, this mod saves the day. Animated Static loading screens will add tons of new ones for you. It is a really simple script and a 2 GB download to add a bit of variety to the game.
Also, good news, since all screens featured in the mod are SFW. But if you are not satisfied and want to add your own, the modder includes very simple instructions to make your own loading screens if you want, just with new images or videos.
Better Graphics
As a passionate fan of “Wuthering Waves,” I’m excited to share another mod I discovered that takes the game’s graphics to a whole new level! Unlike other visual enhancements, this one focuses on unlocking specific options that can significantly boost the overall graphical quality.
For example, after installing the mod, you can enhance the TAA (anti-aliasing which makes the game look smoother), improve the ray tracing graphics, adjust the render distance of objects that are far away from your character, and adjust colors to look better.
Quality of Life Shortcuts
This is a simple mod that makes overall play much better, especially if you spend hours each day in Wuthering Waves. Installing Quality of Life shortcuts will add some much-needed keyboard shortcuts for several actions.
For example, by pressing CapsLock and a number from one to five, you can switch to another team directly. Plus, Capslock and Q/W can zoom your view. Finally, pressing capslock + J will open an Echo Selection for the active character. These will all save you quite a bit of time!
Intro Skip
Intro Skip does what it says on the tin: it will allow you to skip all the intro screens and warnings, so you can simply get into the meat of Wuthering Waves.
If you enjoy playing video games extensively, especially when trying out various modifications and adjustments to game settings, then this tool can significantly reduce your hassle and aggravation by saving you a considerable amount of time.
New Fonts
Although it’s not essential, we appreciate the flexibility of choosing various fonts when playing “Wuthering Waves”. Just pick your preferred font at the beginning of the game and enjoy your selection throughout.
Thanks to a rich selection of fonts such as Montserrat Bold and Pocket Monk, the mod helps with readability and screens filled with data will look much more pleasant.
How to install WWMI in Wuthering Waves
While the mods we have in our list all have their own method of installation, mostly involving unzipping files in the main directory of the game, if you are looking to import 3D models for your characters, you will need to install WWMI.
This program has been at the center of discussion often, with people blaming it for ruining the overall performance of the game, plus often being recognized by antivirus programs to be suspect. So, while we will tell you how to install and use it, be careful in using it especially after the launch of version 2.0.
Follow these steps to install and use WWMI:
- Install the XXMI Launcher from the download page.
- After installation, select Wuthering Waves from the list of games to mod.
- Finally, the installation program will ask for the path where the game is installed (you can find it in the settings of the game).
After setting up the game, click on the dots beside the Start button, then select “open Mods folder.” Now you can start extracting the outfit mods of your choice in this folder. Launch the game, let it load, and press F10 to close the appearing window.
If you see the mods as glitched, you will need to either restart the game each time you install a new one or switch to another character without the mod, press F10 to reload WWMI and you should see it correctly.
If the issue persists and you perceive it as a malfunction, you might want to consider downloading and installing the WWMI fix. This can be placed in the same folder as your game, allowing you to run it every time you add a new mod. This should help prevent further glitches and ensure that your modifications function properly.
If you are experiencing performance issues, big FPS drops, and other general performance problems after installing WWMI, then chances are your PC is not powerful enough to run it. Consider uninstalling it if the problems persist.
