HoYoverse has unveiled the pair of characters who will grace the gacha banners during Version 3.2, with Castorice and Anaxa poised to make their debut. Fresh leaks are offering fans a more intimate glimpse into one future recruit.

Among the many characters hinted at in previews for Amphoreus in Honkai: Star Rail, Castorice has been one of the most eagerly awaited newcomers. In Honkai: Star Rail, Castorice is initially presented as the Chrysos Heir linked to the “Thanatos” Titan of Amphoreus, a god of death. Castorice significantly impacts the narrative for the Version 3.0 update, encountering the Trailblazer and Dan Heng during the assault on Okhema. Recently, leaks have provided players with an extensive look at Castorice’s gameplay within Star Rail.

A well-known leaker for Honkai: Star Rail, Dim, has revealed comprehensive details about the in-game abilities of a new character called Castorice. According to the leak, Castorice’s basic attack inflicts Quantum damage proportional to her maximum HP. Her skill, on the other hand, drains HP from nearby allies to unleash area-of-effect Quantum Damage.

Castorice’s ultimate ability is similar to other Remembrance characters, as it summons her Memosprite, “Dead Dragon.” This summon not only boosts her skill but also offers additional advantages such as reducing the enemies’ All-Type Resistance.

Moreover, Castorice’s talent amplifies her damage output based on HP lost by her allies. Lastly, her technique ensures that she starts battles with her Memosprite already activated.

Eidolons

  • Snowland’s Holy Maiden Entombs With Memories: Each time the Dead Dragon uses “Dimscorch Breath,” increases its DMG dealt by 30%. This effect stacks up to 6 times and lasts until the end of this turn.
  • And Crowns with Flowers Aflutter: After summoning memosprite Dead Dragon, Castorice gains 2 stacks of “Ardent Will.” A maximum of 2 stacks of “Ardent Will” can be possessed at any given time, and can be used to offset the memosprite Dead Dragon’s HP consumption while advancing Castorice’s action by 100%. The next Enhanced Skill deals 100% more DMG.
  • And Sleeps in Elegies Embetter: While Castorice is on the battlefield, all allies’ Incoming Healing increases by 20% when having their HP restored.
  • And Waits for Time to Un-Cocoon, Unfetters: When Castorice and Dead Dragon deals DMG, increases Quantum RES PEN by 20%, and Dead Dragon will not disappear on its own after taking an action.

Traces

  • Stats: Crit Rate, Quantum DMG Boost, CRIT DMG
  • Dark Tale Contained: When Castorice or Dead Dragon’s respective HP is at 50% or higher, increases their respective SPD by 40%.
  • Inverted Torch: While Dead Dragon is not on the field, 100% of excess healing for each ally target will restore an equal amount of “Stamen Nova.” While Dead Dragon is on the field, the excess healing will restore an equal amount of HP for Dead Dragon. Each restoration can not exceed 15% of max “Stamen Nova” / Dead Dragon’s Max HP.
  • Where the West Wind Dwells: When Dead Dragon disappears, restores HP for all allies equal to 10% of Castorice’s Max HP plus 250.

Skills

  • Basic ATK: Deals Quantum DMG equal to 25% of Castorice’s Max HP to one designated enemy.
  • Skill: Consumes 40% of all allies’ current HP. Deals Quantum DMG equal to 25% of Castorice’s Max HP to one enemy and Quantum DMG equal to 15% of Castorice’s Max HP to adjacent targets. If current HP is insufficient, this ability will reduce HP to 1. If Dead Dragon is on the battlefield, this Skill becomes “Skeleclaw, the Doomdrake’s Embrace” instead.
  • Enhanced Skill: Consumes 50% of all allies’ (except Dead Dragon) current HP. Castorice and Dead Dragon launch a Joint ATK and deal Quantum DMG equal to 12% and 21% of Castorice’s Max HP. If current HP is insufficient, this ability will reduce HP to 1.
  • Ultimate: Summons the memosprite Dead Dragon and advances its action by 100%. At the same time, creates the Territory “Lost Netherland,” which decreases all enemies’ All-Type RES by 10%. If the DMG boost effect from Castorice’s Talent is active, the effect is extended to Dead Dragon. Dead Dragon has 140 SPD and a set Max HP equal to 100% of max “Stamen Nova.” After Dead Dragon acts 3 times or when its HP is 0, it disappears and dispels the Territory “Lost Netherland.”
  • Talent: “Stamen Nova”‘s maximum is equal to 100 times the sum of all characters’ levels on the battlefield. For each point of HP lost by all allies, Castorice gains 1 point of “Stamen Nova.” Increases Castorice’s and Dead Dragon’s DMG dealt by 10%. This effect can stack up to 3 times, lasting for 3 turns. When “Stamen Nova” reaches its maximum, Castorice’s Ultimate can be used. When Dead Dragon is on the field, “Stamen Nova” cannot be gained, and for each point of HP lost by all allies (except Dead Dragon), Dead Dragon recovers an equal amount of HP.
  • Technique: After using Technique, enters the “Death Addle” state that lasts for 20 seconds. While “Death Addle” is active, enemies are unable to approach Castorice on their own. While in the “Death Addle” state, attacking will cause all enemies within range to enter combat. At the same time, summons the memosprite Dead Dragon. Dead Dragon starts with current HP equal to 50% of max “Stamen Nova.” After entering battle, consumes 40% of all allies’ current HP and advances Dead Dragon’s action by 100%. After entering battle and before summoning Dead Dragon, Castorice gains “Stamen Nova” equal to 5-% of maximum “Stamen Nova.”

In addition to her regular playstyle, the leak discloses that upgrading Traces and Eidolons for Castorice will provide enhanced abilities. The Traces seem to primarily enhance Critical damage and Quantum power, while also offering unique effects such as additional healing accumulating Talent stacks and restoring health when the Dead Dragon vanishes. Meanwhile, Eidolons bring new benefits like increased healing, a stacking mechanism when Dead Dragon is active, and an increase in Dead Dragon’s damage. It is anticipated that Castorice and version 3.2 of Honkai: Star Rail will be released on April 8.

As players eagerly wait for Castorice’s arrival, the highly-anticipated update for Honkai: Star Rail is preparing for its rollout later this week. Update 3.1 will introduce two new characters to the game – Tribbie and Mydei, who will join previously featured characters Yunli and Huohuo in a re-run. The upcoming patch will also unveil a fresh chapter in the Divergent Universe with “Protean Hero,” along with events such as “The Awooo Firm” and “Holy City Appraisals.” When it comes to Amphoreus, Castorice is anticipated to be one of their most thrilling new additions in update 3.2.
