In Honkai: Star Rail, The Herta is a potent 5-star Ice Erudition unit known for its robust self-buffs and damage multipliers. As a damage dealer, she prioritizes the standard trio of Critical Rate, Critical Damage, and Attack, along with any overall damage enhancements from her Light Cones. Since The Herta’s abilities offer an impressive 80% Critical Damage boost, she generally favors Light Cones that provide Critical Rate. Moreover, boosting her Skill and Ultimate output is beneficial for her damage output, particularly her Skill, considering her Interpretation mechanic, with a special preference for the former.

In Honkai: Star Rail, despite the fact that boosting CRIT Rate and Skill Damage increases is uncommon outside of her signature Light Cone, The Herta still has a variety of effective choices along the Erudition Path. Several of these Light Cones, both limited and free, provide valuable stats and perform quite similarly in effectiveness. Here are some top Light Cone options for The Herta:

1. Light Cone A-42 “Infinite Wisdom”: This Light Cone excels at increasing CRIT Rate, making it an excellent choice for The Herta. Its passive ability also increases the team’s Skill DMG, providing a nice boost to overall performance.

2. Light Cone A-51 “Knowledge of the Abyss”: This Light Cone offers a significant increase in Skill DMG, making it ideal for The Herta who wants to focus more on dealing damage with her skills. Its passive ability also reduces the cooldown time of skills, allowing for more frequent use.

3. Light Cone A-52 “Stellar Illumination”: This Light Cone provides a balanced increase in both CRIT Rate and Skill DMG, making it a versatile choice for The Herta. Its passive ability increases the team’s Energy Recharge rate, allowing for more frequent skill usage.

4. Light Cone A-53 “Cosmic Understanding”: This Light Cone focuses on increasing The Herta’s CRIT Damage, making her skills hit harder when they crit. Its passive ability also increases the team’s Energy Recharge rate, similar to A-52.

Each of these Light Cones offers unique benefits and can help The Herta excel in different situations. Choose the one that best suits your playstyle and strategic needs.

The Seriousness of Breakfast (S5)

HP ATK DEF
846 476 396
S5 Passive
Increases the wearer’s DMG by 24%. For every defeated enemy, the wearer’s ATK increases by 8%, stacking up to 3 time(s).

Acquiring the Usefulness of Morning Meals can be achieved by buying it with Lucent Afterglow or receiving it through Echo of War drops. Players also have the chance to get one copy by completing a secret mission on the Herta Space Station. Although this isn’t the Herta’s top pick, it is still a useful alternative for novice players with limited options. It provides straightforward damage enhancements, making it a reliable substitute until a superior Light Cone is acquired.

The Day The Cosmos Fell (S5)

HP ATK DEF
953 476 331
S5 Passive
Increases the wearer’s ATK by 24%. When the wearer uses an attack and affects no fewer than 2 attacked enemies with a corresponding Weakness, the wearer’s CRIT DMG increases by 40% for 2 turn(s).

Purchasing or Acquiring ‘The Day The Cosmos Fell’ is another available item from the Light Cone series, which can be obtained using Lucent Afterglow or through Echo of War drops. Additionally, players have the chance to secure a free version by locating all the Origami Birds within Golden Hour. Although it slightly outperforms ‘The Seriousness of Breakfast’, its potency depends on keeping up with its CRIT DMG conditional bonus. If maintaining these conditions consistently proves challenging, its performance may drop substantially. However, it still serves as a decent temporary alternative to ‘The Herta’ until a more efficient Light Cone is obtained.

Eternal Calculus (S5)

HP ATK DEF
1058 529 396
S5 Passive
Increases the wearer’s ATK by 12%. After using an attack, for each enemy target hit, additionally increases ATK by 8%. This effect can stack 5 times and lasts until the next attack. If there are 3 or more enemy targets hit, this unit’s SPD increases by 16%, lasting for 1 turn(s).

The Eternal Calculus, a top-rated item from Herta’s Store, can be bought using Herta Bonds. It’s a 5-star Light Cone with an impressive Attack percentage enhancement. However, its power varies depending on the number of targets it hits, which makes it less effective in situations with fewer opponents. Regardless, when utilized to its full potential, Eternal Calculus is a reliable pick. Moreover, at level 5, it provides a 16% Speed increase, useful for reaching certain Speed milestones during combat. Much like other free options, Eternal Calculus functions well as a temporary substitute for The Herta until a superior replacement is acquired.

Yet Hope Is Priceless (S1)

HP ATK DEF
952 582 529
S1 Passive
Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 16%. While the wearer is in battle, for every 20% CRIT DMG that exceeds 120%, the DMG dealt by follow-up attack increases by 12%. This effect can stack up to 4 time(s). When the battle starts or after the wearer uses their Basic ATK, enables Ultimate or the DMG dealt by follow-up attack to ignore 20% of the target’s DEF, lasting for 2 turn(s).

Jade’s distinct ability, “Light Cone: Even Hope Glows Bright,” is a suitable choice for The Herta. It enhances CRIT Rate by 16% at S1, making it a beneficial stat booster. Although she can’t leverage Follow-Up buffs, this Light Cone remains a straightforward and dependable option.

Her Ultimate’s 20% Defense penetration might be handy if players activate it early in the fight, but its effectiveness isn’t consistent since The Herta typically abstains from using Basic Attacks. Furthermore, the Interpretation stack may not be substantial enough at the start of the battle for the Ultimate to maximize its effect.

It’s advisable to steer clear of using the particular Light Cone designated for The Herta, as other more cost-effective options exist among F2P (Free-to-Play) alternatives. If you currently possess Yet Hope Is Priceless, it might be more beneficial to assign it to a character that can maximize its abilities, since the free Light Cones associated with The Herta perform nearly identically.

Geniuses’ Repose (S5)

HP ATK DEF
846 476 396
S5 Passive
Increases the wearer’s ATK by 32%. When the wearer defeats an enemy, the wearer’s CRIT DMG increases by 48% for 3 turn(s).

Tranquil Rest for Geniuses is an excellent 4-star Light Cone acquired through standard Stellar Warp. It delivers a substantial 32% boost in Attack and a 48% Critical Damage enhancement at rank 5. Although The Herta must vanquish an adversary to trigger the Critical Damage bonus, this should be manageable in most scenarios, as the benefit persists for three turns. However, this Light Cone may not perform optimally in extended confrontations against solitary bosses lacking frequent reinforcements to renew the buff, like Hoolay.

An Instant Before A Gaze (S1)

HP ATK DEF
1058 582 463
S1 Passive
Increases the wearer’s CRIT DMG by 36%. When the wearer uses their Ultimate, the wearer’s Ultimate DMG increases based on their Max Energy; Ultimate DMG increases by 0.36% per point of Energy, up to 180 Energy.

Argenti’s renowned Light Cone titled “On the Verge of Sight” is a suitable choice for The Herta. At S1, it offers a 36% surge in CRIT Damage and a substantial 64.8% enhancement to Ultimate Damage. Although the Ultimate boost is beneficial, The Herta would prefer Skill Damage or overall Damage, which somewhat diminishes this Light Cone’s standing. Like Yet Hope Is Priceless, players should utilize this Light Cone only if they already possess it and refrain from intentionally acquiring it for The Herta.

Before Dawn (S1)

HP ATK DEF
1058 582 463
S1 Passive
Increases the wearer’s CRIT DMG by 36%. Increases the wearer’s Skill and Ultimate DMG by 18%. After the wearer uses their Skill or Ultimate, they gain Somnus Corpus. Upon triggering a follow-up attack, Somnus Corpus will be consumed and the follow-up attack DMG increases by 48%.

As a gamer, I can vouch for Before Dawn, Jing Yuan’s signature Light Cone, being a solid choice for The Herta. Despite The Herta not being able to leverage the Follow-Up Attack buff, the Light Cone still provides outstanding unconditional stats that harmonize well with her abilities.

At Skill Level 1 (S1), Before Dawn boosts her CRIT DMG by a substantial 36% and enhances both Skill and Ultimate damage by 18%. Granted, The Herta might prefer more CRIT Rate considering her A4 Trace, but the extra CRIT DMG from this Light Cone is still incredibly valuable.

Today Is Another Peaceful Day (S5)

HP ATK DEF
846 529 330
S5 Passive
After entering battle, increases the wearer’s DMG based on their Max Energy. DMG increases by 0.4% per point of Energy, up to 160 Energy.

Today brings another tranquil day, but this isn’t just any ordinary day – it’s a remarkable 4-star Light Cone known as “Today Is Another Peaceful Day”. This powerful boost offers a considerable and unrestricted damage amplification. The high 220 Energy requirement for The Herta’s Ultimate skill ensures optimal utilization of the Light Cone’s effect, resulting in a significant 64% damage enhancement at level 5 (S5).

Moreover, “Today Is Another Peaceful Day” boasts the highest base Attack among all current 4-star Erudition Light Cones, matching the attack power of the 5-star Eternal Calculus. This makes it an excellent choice for free-to-play and casual spenders, with some gamers even suggesting it’s a more reliable pick compared to the next Light Cone on the list.

Night on the Milky Way (S1)

HP ATK DEF
1164 582 396
S1 Passive
For every enemy on the field, increases the wearer’s ATK by 9%, up to 5 stacks. When an enemy is inflicted with Weakness Break, the DMG dealt by the wearer increases by 30% for 1 turn.

Obtaining “Night on the Milky Way” from the regular Stellar Warp is an excellent 5-star pick. This particular Light Cone performs exceptionally well for The Herta, given it can sustain its effects consistently. However, take note that the Light Cone’s maximum 45% ATK boost at S1 only holds when there are five enemies on the field to maintain those stacks. As the number of targets decreases, its performance significantly drops. To activate the damage buff, make sure at least one enemy is afflicted with Weakness Break. Despite its consistency possibly trailing a few other Light Cones, “Night on the Milky Way” remains a powerful choice, especially for Pure Fiction.

Into the Unreachable Veil (S1)

HP ATK DEF
953 635 463
S1 Passive
Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 12%. When the wearer uses their Ultimate, increases DMG dealt by the wearer’s Skill and Ultimate by 60%, lasting for 3 turn(s). After the wearer uses their Ultimate, if this Ultimate consumed 140 or more Energy, recovers 1 Skill Point.

Herta’s unique weapon, Beyond the Inaccessible Shroud, stands out as her top-tier choice, offering an extraordinary amount of value. It substantially enhances Critical Rate and grants a substantial damage bonus to both her Ability and Ultimate. Furthermore, this weapon returns a Skill Point every time Herta activates her Ultimate, making it particularly beneficial for teams that heavily rely on Skill Points. With a base Attack of 635, it also boasts the highest Attack stat among all Erudition Light Cones currently in circulation. Its usefulness extends to numerous other Erudition characters, even those who may not satisfy the Energy prerequisite for the Skill Point recovery.
