Dave Portnoy hits out at Zach Bryan after diss track gets removed from YouTube & Spotify

As a seasoned gamer with a knack for following the latest drama in the world of social media, I find myself intrigued by this Dave Portnoy vs Zach Bryan saga. It seems like we have a classic case of internet beef here, with Dave taking on the mighty Warner Music Group and their artist, Zach Bryan.

In a heated response, the proprietor of Barstool Sports, Dave Portnoy, is expressing his displeasure following the copyright claim against the diss track he collaborated on with TikTok user Josh Richards, which was posted on YouTube and Spotify.

2023 saw the beginning of a relationship between country music artist Zach Bryan and Brianna LaPaglia, famously known as Brianna Chickenfry. For several months, they frequently appeared on their respective social media accounts.

Up until October 2024, all was well between Bryan and LaPaglia in their relationship. However, things took an unexpected turn when Bryan shared an Instagram story announcing the end of their relationship, which came as a surprise to her. In the following days, she posted a video explaining that this Instagram post was how she learned about the breakup.

On Wednesday, November 6th, the duo of co-hosts Dave Portnoy and Josh Richards, from their podcast, published a critical rap song targeting the popular country musician across various digital platforms like YouTube and social media.

Shortly following the video’s release, Bryan’s music label, Warner Music Group, flagged the YouTube video with a copyright claim. The message displayed reads: “This video contains content from WMG, which has been blocked due to copyright infringement.” Similarly, the track was taken down from Spotify.

Portnoy hit out against Zach Bryan and WMG in a post on X, slamming them for issuing the strike.

Zach Bryan and Warner Music seem to have ineffective crisis management teams. They’re frantically attempting to remove ‘Smallest Man’ from the web, apparently unaware that I am the head of an internet firm. Their actions only ensure that this issue will reach number one,” he stated.

It seems that Zach Bryan and Warner Music are struggling in crisis management, acting frantically to remove the hashtag “#smallestman” online. One might wonder if they forgot that I am running an internet company. In fact, their actions could potentially make this issue go viral, possibly reaching #1 trending status.

Following the publication of the video and sharing of a related image on Instagram, someone pointed out in the comments that the official BFFs podcast page failed to tag Bryan’s social media account.

“Y’all aren’t even brave enough to tag him in the picture,” they said.

Brianna replied, saying she had been blocked by her ex-boyfriend. “We’re all blocked,” she said.

I’ve got to say, it seems like another individual has found themselves on the receiving end of Portnoy’s recent criticisms. If you recall, last September, he took on a radio host who showed disregard towards one of his Barstool Sports team members, starting quite an intense conflict.
