Chris Pratt Says Americans Supporting Each Other After Election Day Is a ‘Bigger Civic Duty’ Than Voting: ‘Accept the Results’ and Help ‘Anyone in Need’

As a fan who has followed Chris Pratt’s journey from Andy Dwyer to Star-Lord, I can’t help but admire his maturity and wisdom that shines through in his recent op-ed. His life experiences, both on-screen and off-, have undoubtedly played a significant role in shaping his perspective.

A few days before Election Day, Chris Pratt penned an opinion piece on Maria Shriver’s website, Sunday Paper. In this piece, he expressed that rather than focusing on who our next president will be, he is committed to ensuring Americans continue to support and assist each other, irrespective of the election results. It’s worth noting that Pratt did not publicly back either Kamala Harris or Donald Trump in his op-ed, which has sparked some discontent among his fans on social media platforms.

Pratt penned this today, as he anticipates that nearly half of the voting population may feel disheartened on November 6th. However, his focus isn’t on whether his chosen candidate emerged victorious or not, but rather, will they lend a helping hand to an elderly neighbor the following morning?

It’s alright to pause for a moment to tend to your hurts when you fail, even shedding tears if necessary. However, let’s not get so bogged down by defeat or overly prideful in success that we forget our shared national identity. How can we cultivate a society of dignified winners and humble losers? The answer lies in recalling that regardless of the outcome, there will always be individuals who require assistance within our country. Seek them out. Offer your help.

Pratt emphasized that one of America’s biggest advantages lies in its strong, united communities. He pointed out examples such as community centers like places of worship, social clubs like Elks and Rotary, youth organizations like Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, charitable groups like the Salvation Army, and our dedicated service members.

The key to our success is our people who reach across party lines not just with a friendly gesture, but by extending a helping hand to those in need,” Pratt penned. “So, let’s all be good sports. Our nation needs us. Whether you’re on Team Red, Team Blue, or didn’t vote this time around, your civic responsibility becomes evident on November 5th. But the next day brings an even greater civic duty: accepting the results and focusing instead on supporting one another.

Pratt suggested, “Reach out to your neighbor, especially if they supported a different candidate. Inquire about their well-being and explore ways you might assist them. Also, find out if they know of any elderly women who could use a hand with moving.

Actor Chris Pratt, known for his roles in “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Jurassic Park,” had an opinion piece published recently, coming shortly after several of Pratt’s Marvel co-stars rallied to support Kamala Harris. Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Don Cheadle, Danai Gurira, and Chris Evans were seen in a campaign video for Harris, where they expressed their views on the future of democracy. Pratt was not featured in this video.
