Cotton Malone TV Series Adaptation in the Works at Amazon From ‘Fate: The Winx Saga’ Creator (EXCLUSIVE)

As a devoted fan of Steve Berry’s Cotton Malone series, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the TV adaptation in development at Amazon MGM Studios! With over 15 million copies sold worldwide and a rich tapestry of international adventures, this series is ripe for the small screen.

It’s been learned exclusively that a television series based on Steve Berry’s Cotton Malone books is being produced at Amazon MGM Studios.

At present, there are 18 top-selling books in the Cotton Malone series. This series kicked off with “The Templar Legacy” back in 2006, and the latest addition to date is “The Atlas Maneuver,” published in February 2024. The series has achieved global sales of over 15 million copies. As of now, it remains uncertain which book will be adapted as the first season for a potential Amazon show.

According to the show’s summary, “Cotton Malone, a former U.S. Justice Department agent who now deals with antiquarian books, finds himself continuing his service for the country as secrets from America’s past resurface and pose a threat to its future. These thrilling mysteries lead Malone on global adventures, where he uncovers enemies not only in foreign territories but also within the highest ranks of the most secretive and influential American power groups.

Brian Young serves as both the writer and executive producer for this series, while Berry is also slated to serve as an executive producer. Additionally, PKM Productions’ Patrick Moran and Lynley Bird are set to executive produce, doing so under their contract with Amazon MGM Studios.

More recently, Young is responsible for developing the live-action adaptation of “Winx Club,” which originally aired on Nickelodeon, for Netflix. This adaption, titled “Fate: The Winx Saga,” has been broadcasted over two seasons on the streaming platform. Additionally, Young holds the roles of executive producer and showrunner for this series. Furthermore, he has contributed to writing for television shows such as “The Vampire Diaries” and “Kyle XY.

He is repped by WME and Hansen Jacobson.

Amazon is now making another effort to transform a popular book series into a TV program, following the success of “Reacher” on Amazon Prime Video. The series, which features Alan Ritchson and is based on Lee Child’s Jack Reacher books, is gearing up for its third season, with a fourth already in production.

Currently, Amazon offers various shows adapted from book series, such as “The Terminal List,” “The Wheel of Time,” “Sweet Magnolias” (formerly known as “The Summer I Turner Pretty”), in addition to forthcoming series like “Cross” and “Scarpetta.
