Recently, there’s been an influx of new characters in Break DMG, making it more popular in the game Honkai: Star Rail. The latest character added in version 2.6 is a Galaxy Ranger, self-proclaimed as the Dazzling Ninja. Her debut is paired with Dan Heng’s alternate form, Imbibitor Lunae.

Star Rail. As an Erudition, Rappa possesses a variety of area-of-effect attacks comparable to Dan Heng’s strikes. Given their presence on the same banner and Imbibitor Lunae being a top-tier DPS, it’s reasonable to question whether Rappa is a valuable addition in Honkai: Star Rail.

From my perspective as an avid gamer, I’d say Rappa and Dan Heng have distinct roles in our game. Rappa functions primarily as a powerful Area of Effect (AoE) damage dealer. One of her standout features is the ability to deplete enemies’ Toughness, regardless of whether they are weak against Imaginary. This versatility is indeed one of her strengths.

Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae is a well-known Damage Per Second (DPS) character in “Honkai: Star Rail”, relying on Attack and Critical statistics to inflict damage. Upon release, he faced an issue of excessive Skill point consumption per turn, but newer characters have since addressed this concern, making Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae teams robust enough to keep pace with the power increase seen in other characters.

Regarding their functions, both Rappa and Imbibitor Lunae are potent Area-of-Effect Damage Per Second (DPS) characters. They inflict damage using their Ultimate abilities and strengthened Basic Attacks.

In the game Honkai: Star Rail, characters like Rappa and Imbibitor Lunae follow distinct paths – Rappa on the Erudition path and Imbibitor Lunae on the Destruction path. These characters have unique approaches when it comes to utilizing Light Cones. For instance, Dan Heng is a free-to-play character who excels with a Light Cone called On the Fall of an Aeon, which provides him with a good ATK% and damage multiplier. In contrast, Rappa, being an Erudition unit, would benefit more from a Light Cone that boosts her Break Damage, a trait less commonly found among units on this path in Honkai: Star Rail.

In free-to-play (F2P) gameplay, Dan Heng performs optimally with limited resources, whereas Rappa encounters some disadvantages without a damage boost (Break DMG buff) in her Light Cone.
