McDonald’s Japan reveals World Cup 2026 burgers & idol collab

To celebrate the World Cup, McDonald’s in Japan launched a special menu! It includes burgers modeled after flavors from North America, limited-edition FIFA collector’s cups, and a fun partnership with a popular idol group.

Starting June 17th, McDonald’s is offering a special “VIVA! World Mac” menu with eight new items. This limited-time campaign celebrates the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

The new football-themed menu features the Chunky Potato & Thick Beef Rich Garlic Pepper burger – a 100% beef patty topped with hearty potato chunks and a flavorful garlic pepper sauce.

Also new to the menu are the Mexican Taco Burger with cheese and chicken, and the Avocado Mayo Shrimp Burger, featuring a shrimp patty, cheddar, and a creamy avocado-flavored mayonnaise.

McDonald’s now has a bigger ‘Night Mac’ – a flavorful burger with garlic pepper seasoning and two patties – available after 5 pm for late-night cravings. If you’re looking for breakfast, they’re also offering a Mexican Taco Cheese Chicken Muffin.

If you’ve finished your meal but are still feeling peckish, you can add some Garlic Steak Shaka Shaka seasoning to your fries. To drink, try a Blue Energy McFizz or a Blue Energy McFloat.

Don’t forget to grab a bite, even at night! 🎉

To celebrate #VIVAWorldMac, reply to this post between 5 PM and 9 PM today (June 17th) for a chance to win a ¥1,000 McDonald’s gift card! A total of 100 winners will be selected.

McDonald’s Japan releases World Cup menu

When you buy a FIFA World Cup 26 Set, you’ll get one of six collectible cups featuring famous soccer players and Grimace! These special cups are only available when you purchase the meal set, so you might need to order a few meals to collect all six.

McDonald’s customers can win official FIFA prizes by using their My McDonald’s Rewards points. For just 250 points, members can enter drawings to win things like mini footballs, tote bags, and collectible pin badges.

The Japanese idol group =LOVE has been featured in several promotional videos for this collaboration, including one popular video with a song based on the campaign itself. To really emphasize the World Cup connection, each member is wearing a McDonald’s-branded soccer uniform.
