Despite a difficult start, Cyberpunk 2077 has likely secured its place as a classic game that people will still be playing for years to come. Will I Still Be Able To Play Cyberpunk 2077?
With the recent announcement of new content for The Witcher 3, CD Projekt Red has confirmed that both The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 will no longer support Windows 10. This decision is due to Microsoft ending support for Windows 10, which means no more security updates. CD Projekt Red explains that without those updates, they can’t continue to support the games on that operating system.
The studio announced that both The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 will require Windows 11 as the minimum operating system. This change will take effect after Microsoft stops supporting Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. They explained that without continued security and platform updates, and ongoing support from graphics card manufacturers for Windows 10, they will no longer be able to test or support their games on that operating system.
Microsoft revealed earlier this year that it will stop supporting Windows 10, with full support ending around October 13, 2026. Because of this, CD Projekt Red is proactively warning its fans well in advance.
What’s Next For Cyberpunk?
It appears development on the original release of Cyberpunk 2077 has concluded. The recent PlayStation 5 Pro update was unexpected and seems to be the last major one, with only small fixes for technical or graphics problems planned for the future.
CD Projekt Red is planning a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 and is actively developing it now. While there’s no confirmed release date yet, the project is moving forward alongside related tabletop and card games being created by other companies.
