A cosplayer dressed as Hatsune Miku caused a stir online after reportedly selling cups of red liquid labeled as “foot juice” at an anime convention.
The incident reportedly happened over Memorial Day weekend at ParkCon, a late-night event held alongside the FanimeCon 2026 convention in San Jose, California.
Cosplayers at a recent event gained attention on X and Facebook for a unique—and unusual—activity. They were reportedly filling cups with a red liquid after dipping their feet in coolers, then selling it to attendees. The ‘Fresh Feet Juice’ quickly became popular, with signs advertising different sizes and prices, like a small cup for $5 or a larger ‘shot’ for $10.

Photos from X user @caiziboshi show cosplayers soaking their feet in coolers filled with liquid. People were watching, and at least one person seemed to be drinking from a cup taken from one of the coolers.
The cosplayer dressed as Miku was easily identified by her bright turquoise pigtails, which are a key part of the character’s look, making the strange situation even more noticeable.

This incident wasn’t part of the official FanimeCon convention. ParkCon is a separate, fan-run event that happens at night during the same time, and FanimeCon’s organizers weren’t involved. Many anime fan groups and news outlets made it clear that these were two different events as the story circulated.
Okay, so a lot of people are asking about those photos going around, and honestly, nobody outside of fans has been able to verify who the cosplayers are, exactly what was in that drink, or if anyone actually bought anything. But what is clear is the pictures are genuine, they definitely seem to have been taken at ParkCon – lots of other people who were there say the same thing – and you can just see the crowds in the background. It all adds up to a pretty convincing scene!
For years, FanimeCon has been a popular event for dedicated Hatsune Miku cosplayers, and fans have always found unique ways to express their love for the character. But this year, things seem to have reached a whole new level.
2026 has been a busy year for Hatsune Miku and her fans! A fan’s Miku-themed car was seized by police at Miku Expo 2026 in Vancouver, and the virtual singer also partnered with a fishing company to create a glow-in-the-dark fishing rod and reel – a collaboration that surprisingly fits the times.
