Geoff Johns Makes Major Claim About The Trillion Dollar Kid

Geoff Johns is offering comic book stores an unprecedented deal for his upcoming series – the best offer ever seen in the industry.

According to Bleeding Cool, writer James Tynion IV has made a unique offer to comic book stores. He’s reportedly promised to buy back any remaining copies of Trillion Dollar Kid #1 that haven’t sold by the time the second issue is released.

It’s unusual for a comic book creator to offer to buy back unsold copies of their work – typically, that comes from the publisher. However, Geoff Johns is doing just that with the first issue of Trillion Dollar Kid, and the timing of this offer is creating extra excitement for fans and collectors, encouraging them to grab a copy when it’s released in a few weeks.

Just a few weeks ago, we got a first look at Trillion Dollar Kid, which offers a glimpse into the future of the Unbelievables Universe. This story will introduce Tommy Townsend III, a key character in the universe, and also kick off the first major crossover event planned for the series.

Image Comics and Ghost Machine introduce Trillion Dollar Kid, the story of Thomas Noble Townsend III. This teen has access to unlimited wealth, and the story explores what’s possible when money truly seems to be no object.

Tommy embarks on a global journey to find people with extraordinary and unbelievable talents and backgrounds. His search leads him to two powerful young beings—future rulers of heaven and hell—and a family from the distant future who are living in secret today. But as Tommy discovers more about these incredible individuals, he wonders if it will actually bring him closer to his ultimate goal.

What To Know About Trillion Dollar Kid

Based on what we’ve seen, Trillion Dollar Kid seems like it will be a central story connecting the future of the Unbelievables Universe. However, the heroes from all three series will have to team up against an old enemy, and defeating them could drastically change the goals these heroes have been working towards.

Even though the comic is called ‘Tommy Gun Pacific’, it seems like the story will be about much more than just money. The fact that Geoff Johns is buying back copies of his own work suggests this series is truly something unique.

Trillion Dollar Kid #1 from Image Comics and Ghost Machine goes on sale June 17.
