A modder for Forza Horizon 6 has achieved something the game developers didn’t: they’ve integrated Spotify directly into the game as a fully functional radio station.
Forza Horizon 6 featured nine carefully selected radio stations, playing over 150 licensed songs from a wide range of artists – including YOASOBI, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Linkin Park, and Calvin Harris. It boasts the biggest soundtrack ever for the game and is truly excellent.
Forza Horizon 3 used to let players stream their own music through a feature called Groove Music, but Microsoft discontinued that service in 2019, removing the option. Players have been requesting its return ever since, and a new modification available on Nexus Mods now provides a solution.
Forza Horizon 6 now has a real Spotify radio station thanks to a fan mod
This mod works by adding itself as a radio station in Forza Horizon 6’s Streamer Mode. It then turns your computer into a Spotify Connect device named “FH6 Radio.” This lets you control your music using the Spotify app on your phone, in a web browser, or on your computer – just like any other Spotify Connect device. The big difference is that the music plays through the game’s audio system, so it blends in naturally instead of playing on top of the game’s sound effects.
The game handles the music seamlessly – the menu music fades out, the volume lowers when music plays, and song information displays correctly. This is because the game treats the music like any other in-game radio station.

To use this mod, you’ll need a Spotify Premium account, Streamer Mode activated within the game, and the in-game Radio DJ feature disabled. It only works on your computer, so it doesn’t send any information to the game servers. However, the mod’s creator has stated on Reddit that it’s not an officially supported feature and could potentially lead to a ban.
The in-game radio station stopped working after Microsoft discontinued Groove Music and then OneDrive support. Players have been using a workaround – turning off the game’s music and playing Spotify separately – but this breaks the immersive feeling of having a built-in radio. This mod restores that original experience.
It’s the kind of thing players have wanted for years, and a modder just did it in their spare time.
It’s worth checking out the complete list of songs and radio stations that come with Forza Horizon 6. And if you’re still unsure about buying the game, our review explains why it’s a great choice.
