LEGO fans and Pokémon enthusiasts might have just gotten a sneak peek at some new building sets! Pictures have appeared online showcasing LEGO versions of popular Pokémon like Gengar, Cubone, Charmander, Geodude, and Jigglypuff.
As a huge Pokémon and LEGO fan, I’m really excited about this leak! It seems to confirm that Pokémon sets are coming as part of LEGO’s new ‘Smart Play’ system. LEGO revealed this system earlier in 2026, and they’re calling it one of their biggest innovations in years – it’s all about making play more interactive with technology, and Pokémon feels like a perfect fit!
Smart Play sets are different from regular LEGOs because they respond to how kids play with them. Using a new piece called the “Smart Brick,” these sets use sensors, sounds, and movement detection to bring LEGO creations to life. They even connect wirelessly and work with special “Smart Tags” to make playtime more interactive.

Leaked Pokemon Smart Play sets include Gengar, Charmander, and Jigglypuff
Recent leaks suggest three new game builds are planned for release in August 2026: Cubone and Gengar’s Spooky Showdown, Charmander and Geodude’s Cavern Clash, and a Jigglypuff Concert experience.
All three sets have packaging that clearly shows the Smart Play logo and encourages users to “Add Smart Brick for interactive play.” The boxes also indicate that the sets work with Smart Tags, but it seems you need to purchase the Smart Brick separately for certain sets.
The new LEGO set featuring Cubone and Gengar seems to be the biggest one revealed so far. It includes a large Gengar figure and a spooky building. The set is numbered 72166 and is recommended for builders age 8 and up.
Okay, fellow Pokémon trainers, get ready! I just saw a sneak peek at some awesome LEGO Pokémon sets coming out in August! We’re talking Gengar & Cubone, Charmander & Geodude, and even Jigglypuff! They look like ‘SMART PLAY’ sets, which I’m guessing means they’re designed for building and playing. Big thanks to BrickTapNews for the heads-up and the pics! ⚡️

The Charmander and Geodude building set is designed for kids ages 6 and up. It comes with a little rocky area where the two Pokémon can ‘battle’.
The Jigglypuff Concert set comes with a microphone and speaker system designed to look like the Pokemon is performing its signature song.
Okay, so I just heard some cool news! Apparently, LEGO is working on a fully playable pinball machine set with over 2,200 pieces! It’s slated to come out in July 2026. It sounds like LEGO is really trying to make sets that you can actually play with, not just build and put on a shelf, which is awesome!
