CoD Zombies & Star Wars voice actor Tom Kane dead at 64 years old

Tom Kane, a well-known voice actor famous for his roles in Star Wars animated series, has passed away, as announced by Galactic Productions.

The agency posted a heartfelt message online honoring Kane, describing him as a remarkable voice actor who brought joy and sparked the imaginations of countless children globally.

Whether it was his iconic work in Star Wars or his many roles in animated shows, documentaries, and video games, Tom always brought wisdom, strength, humor, and genuine emotion to his performances.

Frank Kane was best known to Star Wars fans as the voice of Jedi Master Yoda, appearing in shows like The Clone Wars and several other projects within the franchise. Throughout his long career, he also provided voice work for many popular animated series, documentaries, and video games.

The tribute shared details about Kane’s personal life, noting he was a loving husband and father. He and his wife built a large family, raising nine children through a combination of having their own kids, adoption, and fostering.

Tom Kane also played a major role in Call of Duty Zombies

I was really bummed to hear about Kane’s passing. Besides being awesome in Star Wars, he was a huge part of my enjoyment of Call of Duty Zombies! He totally was Takeo Masaki – that character was iconic in the Aether storyline, and Kane’s voice brought him to life for years. He’ll be missed by so many Zombies fans like me.

He became a key part of what made the Zombies mode so popular in several Black Ops games. Players especially loved how he acted during the game’s most emotional scenes and often quoted his memorable lines throughout the series.

Even though he is no longer with us, the memorable characters, stories, and affection he shared with the world will never be forgotten.

After a stroke in 2020 affected his speech, Kane significantly reduced his voice acting work. His family kept fans and colleagues in the animation and Star Wars communities updated on his progress, and he received a lot of support during his recovery.

The memorial concluded with a final nod to Star Wars, paying tribute to the actor’s lasting impact with the words, “May the Force be with you, always.”
