Forza Horizon 6 won’t let you destroy cherry blossom trees, and for good reason

Forza Horizon 6 is now available, and it’s packed with exciting racing action! Players can drive a huge variety of cars, challenge each other, and even crash through tons of objects. Just about everything is destructible!

While driving around Japan and discovering hidden cars and beautiful places, players will find many things they can’t damage, like shrines and historic buildings. Surprisingly, cherry blossom trees are also indestructible!

Unlike most trees in Forza Horizon 6 that break when you crash into them, Cherry Blossom trees are different – they’re indestructible, no matter how fast you’re going.

Cherry Blossom trees are indestructible in Forza Horizon 6

Cherry blossoms, called Sakura in Japan, are much more than just pretty flowers. They’re an important part of Japanese culture, representing beauty, and reminding people that life is short and precious. You’ll often find them growing near temples, shrines, and other historical places.

This continues to be important in Forza Horizon 6. During springtime in the game, you’ll find Cherry Blossom trees scattered across the map. Unlike other objects you can crash through, hitting these trees will immediately halt your car.

Torben Ellert, design director for Forza Horizon 6, recently told The Japan Times why players can destroy most trees in the game. He explained that making almost all trees smashable adds to the fun and sense of reward when exploring the map. However, some trees, like the iconic cherry blossoms, are protected because of their cultural importance in Japan.

He also explained that some temples and cultural landmarks are off-limits to prevent players from driving through sacred or historically significant areas.

TopMob has contacted Playground Games for a response about this small detail, but be careful with your steering when you notice the lovely pink trees.
