Fans of the game Umamusume can now send birthday presents to the actual horses that inspired their favorite characters.
Versailles Farm, a Japanese retirement home for racehorses – including some who inspired characters in the game Umamusume: Pretty Derby – has created a ‘Birthday Donation’ program.
Throughout the event, attendees can donate ¥3,000 (about $18.99) per horse until May 31st. These donations will help provide food, comfortable bedding, upkeep of the farm, and daily care for the retired horses.
Versailles Farm expressed its wish for fans to continue celebrating and supporting the horses even after their racing careers are over.
Umamusume fans can send IRL horses birthday gifts
Several Umamusume characters have birthdays in May, including Tanino Gimlet (27 years old), Rose Kingdom and Hiruno d’Amour (both 19), and Jono Bohemian (20).
Honestly, it’s a really sweet message. Basically, they just want everyone to enjoy the horses and hope they have a great birthday – you know, that one special day a year!
They acknowledged that ongoing support might be challenging, but even a single donation can make a difference in helping more horses live safe and comfortable lives.
In addition to supporting the real horses inspired by their favorite characters, Uma fans who donate will receive a special thank-you gift: an exclusive smartphone wallpaper featuring the horse they helped.
🎉 Happy Birthday! 🎉
May 11th was the birthday of Katie Brave, and today, May 14th, it’s Jo No Bohemian’s special day! 🐴✨
Jo No Bohemian was born at the Mikuni Pasture (now Versailles Farm) and is currently enjoying a healthy life here at Versailles Resort Farm. 🌿

Retirement farms for racehorses are typical in Japan, but Versailles Farm has gained particular popularity with fans of the game Umamusume, as several of the horses in the game spent their retirement there.
Earlier this year, Versailles Farm sold broken pieces of fencing that were damaged by Tanino Gimlet, a popular horse famous for his playful, energetic behavior. Fans generously donated $400,000 to build a fourth stable, providing better living spaces for horses like Transcend.
The Umamusume community’s kindness is truly remarkable. Beyond typical fan support, they once sent over 2.5 tons of grass to Haru Urara, and even worked together to restore the grave of Mejiro Ardan in China.
