7-Eleven store sells for record $13m just weeks after opening in “middle of nowhere”

A 7-Eleven in California recently sold for a record-breaking $12.8 million, despite being located in a very remote area.

Gas stations and fast-food restaurants are common investments for people across the U.S. Popular streamer Amouranth has also invested heavily in Texas, spending millions – including $10 million for a single location.

A recently opened 7-Eleven in California was sold for nearly $13 million just weeks after its late April opening.

The New York Post reports that this 7-Eleven sold for a record price in the state, despite its remote location and proximity to existing gas stations.

7-Eleven sells for $13m in California record

According to a report in the Post, the 7-Eleven store being sold is at 3720 Avenue 17 in Madera. It’s right across the street from an Arco gas station, and there’s also a Love’s Travel Stop close by.

A quick look on Google Maps reveals the 7-Eleven is located very close to the Madera Municipal Airport. But, this likely won’t bring a lot of extra customers.

The city airport mainly serves small, private planes – usually with just a pilot and one passenger. Currently, it averages fewer than two flights per day, according to FlightRadar.

However, The Post also noted the location is appealing because it’s conveniently near a highway exit and not far from the new North Fork Mono Casino, which is under construction.

This isn’t the only major gas station project happening in California. Costco is also planning to open a large gas station in June, but unlike most of their locations, it won’t be connected to a Costco warehouse.
