The Pokémon Legends games have quickly become a significant part of the Pokémon franchise. While the two games released so far aren’t perfect, they’re still enjoyable for fans. Game Freak hasn’t revealed much about future installments, but a massive leak – known as the Teraleak – continues to reveal details before they’re officially announced.
A recent leak indicates the next game in the series might take place in the Galar region, which has excited many fans. While not officially confirmed, the game is currently predicted to release around 2028. Players are already sharing what they hope to see, especially regarding the available starter Pokémon.
On Twitter, a user named Dusty shared their guesses for the best starter Pokémon in a potential new game, Pokémon Legends Galar. They suggested Snivy, Charmander, and Piplup. While it’s just fan speculation, the post sparked a lot of discussion about which Pokémon fans would like to see as starters, and what direction the game developers, Game Freak, should take.
One fan questioned why Charmander receives so much attention while other Fire-type starters, like Chimchar and Litten, seem to be overlooked by The Pokémon Company recently.
“It should be Snivy, Poplio, Chimchar or Snivy, Piplup, Litten,” another added.
Many people agreed with the original poster’s suggestion, with one commenter specifically mentioning Snivy, Charmeleon, and Piplup as good options. They added that they believed the game would likely feature existing starter Pokémon in new forms, rather than introducing entirely new ones, as has been the pattern in previous Legend games.
Someone else commented that even though they’re tired of seeing Charizard featured, this combination of starter Pokémon would be perfect for a medieval England theme – which they think would be amazing for a Legends game set in the Galar region. They pointed out it’s a classic fire-breathing dragon!
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise, and a new game, Pokémon Winds and Waves, has been announced as the start of its tenth generation. The game promises an exciting new adventure, taking place in a unique archipelago inspired by the landscapes of Southeast Asia.
We probably won’t hear about a new Legends game for quite some time, especially since many people are still playing Z-A. However, if they’re aiming for a 2028 release, we should get more information next year, so it’s best to be patient until then.
